$540 MILLION: Mega Millions buying frenzy sparks another jackpot increase
Even if one includes one's parents in the trust/LLC, though, the IRS will likely claim that, unless there was written evidence that the parents shared in the ownership of the ticket, the purchaser of the ticket would have to pay gift taxes on the portion that was transferred to others through the LLC. Depending upon the evidence in the case, one may or may not win. Unfortunately, I recently deleted from my files the link to a court case regarding such a situation in Washington state and haven't

Generous former lottery winner says she accidentally gave away second winning ticket
Of course, it would work better for her distressed situation if this lottery ticket she had 'accidentally given away,' had been #s all manually picked by her.
This way she could substantiate her case by showing that, yes she had intentionally given away to a few people lottery tickets, but those were ALL random computer generated tickets. She never meant to give, from her other purse section, the one lottery ticket where she had carefully, picked all of her #s in order to win from the ticket

$500 MILLION: Mega Millions sets all-time lottery jackpot record
Definitely would not be a bad idea to look into it.
Found an old article from Feb. 2000 in our own lottoreport run by Mrs. Nettles.
Mr. Harrell was a former Pentecostal preacher and Home Depot stocker. Killed himself with a shotgun blast to the chest in his Kingwood' TX home in May 1999.
Looking at his story and the story of Jack Whittaker would definitely be sobering to any jackpot winner(s) on Friday.

Lottery winners that invest their winnings
This might be a dumb question but we constantly hear about lottery winners that lose their winnings but how come we never hear about lottery winners that successfully invested their winnings to make even more money? Is such a thing even possible? I know such winners would be incredibly rare if they are and I know investing is not an easy thing. Though you gotta wonder though if someone managed to use their winnings and successfully earned more millions through proper investment.
Instead of se

Mega Millions winner forced to split jackpot with co-workers
Here's the useful quote from the article: The case ... marked the latest cautionary tale involving lottery pools, pacts often based on trust and a handshake.
The lesson from this is that contracts should be in writing, and they should be written by somebody who's not an idiot. Despite some hassles along the way there are at least 5 players who wouldn't have won if they hadn't been in a pool. I put won in quotation marks because there's only one person who really knows if the winning ticket wa
