MegaMillions rolls to $325M
I think the next pot would only be around 80 million more than whatever the current pot gets adjusted to. Sales are lower this time than the drawinging in March. For the last drawing sales were at $110 million vs $88 now. Sales for the current drawing will only hit around $150 to $175. So odds of a rollover are higher but still pretty low. I'd say the next pot would be around $410 - $415 then get adjusted by sales. They error on the low side to start since you can always raise it later as sal

Official wants fraud probe of Tennessee Lottery
I doubt it was an intentional error or fraud. Most likely it was the result of a software person making a change (or setting an parameter incorrectly) and then making the MAJOR MISTAKE of not TESTING the system after the change. A SIMPLE software test would have caught this problem. By running a trial statistical sample and looking at the results, it would have been obvious that something was wrong when number combinations had 0.00% hits. Either way, fraud or an unintentional mistake, this

Official wants fraud probe of Tennessee Lottery
That's a GREAT POINT! Why would she even entertain the idea of rigging the drawings is computerized drawings were so secure ? I would say if someone WAS rigging the drawing that they succeeded nicely. I wonder if that person would made the keypunch error played any Pick 3 or Pick 4 numbers during that stretch -- or maybe someone they know did?

Players warned lottery about tickets flaw
OK...let's let their own words prove the truth of the statement: First from the Tennessee Lottery: Hargrove said a programmer for the vendor, New Jersey based Smartplay International Inc., made a keystroke error when setting the parameters for Cash 3 and Cash 4, typing a u for unique instead of an r for repeat. Next from a second vendor who conducted the security tests...NOT Smartplay: James Maida, president of Gaming Laboratories, said the flaw was hidden in 1,400 lines of co

Players warned lottery about tickets flaw
Posted by Uncle Jim 5. The Tennessee Lottery blamed the vendor for the problem. But read the vendor's statement carefully. They claim they tested it and it was working when it left them. The problem occured when it went on line in Tennessee. So what really happened? Did the vendor make a programming error? Or did something change between the time it left the vendor and went on line? Remember it was tested and presumably certified by the vendor and by an outside consultant and then agai

Tennessee Lottery glitch shuts out players
Hargrove said a programmer for the vendor, New Jersey-based Smartplay International Inc., made a keystroke error when setting the parameters for Cash 3 and Cash 4, typing a u for unique instead of an r for repeat. what's to stop them from doing this for any particular drawing they want to. This is one more reason computerized drawing should be banned.

computerized drawings set to take over the lottery in a few years?
Thanks ArtVandalay for posting that FAQ, it does help to show why states are moving towards the rng systems (not a huge fan, either). I come from somewhat of a technical background (not a super geek, but I like electronics) and I know that when ever custom software is produced there are going to be bugs. Some of these may be big and some may be small, but ultimatly there will be errors in the code. You see this almost daily with Microsoft products, yet no one seems to be throwing away their

computerized drawings set to take over the lottery in a few years?
According to that article it seems like Smartplay Int. is the manufacturer/vendor and Gaming Laboratories Inc. was the auditor. I think that Tenn. Lottery should have had additional auditors on site (in Tenn.) and that sufficient testing should have been done prior to deployment. This, while being a silly programming error, should have been caught by the lottery before the drawings went public. Also, why did it take them so long to get a fix for this, when so many people were complaining? di

Tennessee lottery "glitch"
Here is a thread you should definitely check out: https://www.lotterypost.com/news/160527/882865 Keep in mind that most state lotteries read the Lottery Post forums, in order to see what players are saying. It is very likely that between the posts here, and the e-mails sent directly to the lottery by LP members, they were finally shaken to start investigating. Look at the e-mail replies from the lottery, which were posted on Lottery Post after they received them. The lottery was clear

Tennessee Lottery computerized drawings flawed since inception
This is a great point. Either the Tennessee Lottery checked the wrong draw computer, or they are lying. Which do you think it is? I personally think it's a strong possibility that the webmaster (or whoever put that e-mail together) made it up, becasue they couldn't conceive of an error in the system.
