Welfare & Jackpot Lottery Winners
People who win any kind of jackpot should be paying back all the assistance they've ever received.
Afterall it is the tax payers money.
I just read the article and it's pretty pathetic that someone could think that it's ok to keep accepting benefits in a situation like that....irregardless that the state was dumb enough not to shut her down right away after she collected her winnings.

Mo. woman describes aftermath of lottery jackpot
The article reads: She took a lump sum payment, which she said was significantly less than the $8.5 million reported at the time, although she wouldn't say how much she got.
Well, it's a shame that shared Powerball jackpot winner Sandra Hayes wouldn't say. However, most of us can calculate that she RECEIVED a net of apx. $5.7 million dollars after 4% Missouri state and 34.9% U.S.A. federal income taxes deducted. This is an excellent amount of monies for her and her children to live very well

Idaho's biggest lottery winner knew he would win
I've starting asking that my verified winning tickets be returned to me but they've been cashed at the local retailer and the most they've matched so far is four.
from the above article But if you ask Brad, those lucky numbers didn't do the work. He did. And luck had nothing to do with it.
Maybe he's believing if he did it once, he can do it again. With new matrix and price, PB jackpots will be larger and maybe he's thinking it's an easier way to reach his billion dollars goal.

CNN producer tells what it's like to win lottery twice
You know, reading this article in her own words, ring a few things to mind. Irrespective of your political, religious or racial inclination, we all have similar problem on a very basic level. She mentions a not so flattering situation on her finacial state a few years back. We can hit each other over different stands as people but, we all share common problems sometimes. I do not consider myself either left or right, I just want a good leader. I do not object to anyone's faith in one religion ov

'Ordinary' Louisiana couple claims $1M Powerball prize
From the Article:
The Powerball game underwent several enhancements last month to create bigger jackpots, more millionaires and better odds of winning. In addition to a price increase to $2 per play, the game's match-5 prize quadrupled from $200,000 to $1 million.
It didn't QUADRUPLE it QUINTUPLED! LOL .... Just thought I would point that out.

Buying every combination for Powerball...Is it legal?
You are correct Coin Toss. Just googled, and it was the Australians trying to play all the possible 7 Million+ combinations of the Virginia pick 6 lottery back in 92
Apparently they only had enough time to play 5 Million comb's only, but from the article looks like the winning ticket was from this syndicate.
BTW, they did change the lottery rules to prevent bulk purchases at lotto terminals, similar to the Mass. Ca$h Winfall scam, that game has actually been discontinued as of 1/23.

NY woman wins $1M a year for life
I was confused by that at first, still am somewhat. The article says for a minimum of 20 years so maybe it goes past that, or maybe they only expect her to live until 57 and then whack her. lol
On the other hand if she lives to 100 years old are they really going to pay her $63 million?
Regardless, congratulations to her and her family.

Warning to those who play overseas lotteries!
Hello, guys.
I'm Farha, long time lurker and finally decided to open an account. As my first post I'd like to warn you guys in order to avoid a potentially life wrecking disappointment.
I read several topics about people playing euromillions or the national UK lottery when they actually don't live in Europe or the USA respectively; either through agents or by some other more obscure methods like actually having an online account (somehow). I'm speaking to those people.
First let's

Rant About Greedy Non-Winners
Good point. After reading the article, I was a little disappointed in the way things turned out. Granted, winning the Lottery does not give someone a right to fulfill every single dream. Just seems it could have been different and for the better. :) For being in the public eye, it seems that Mr. Duke is doing an exceptional job of avoiding the typical pitfalls of the majority of Lottery winners.
I am not even going to start on the opposite side of the spectrum, there's one well known failu
