I stopped playing those two long ago. I play the games with lower odds that also have attractive jackpots. I'd be more than happy with 350K or so. However, when the jp gets close to a half billion I must admit I do buy ONE ticket. lol

Don't forget which state still holds the record for most Powerball jackpots and that is Indiana. I feel that will be over with soon with NY, FL, NJ and CA chipping away. Very high odds in your Mm and Pb and almost impossible to win...that is were quick picks come in ....most of these high jackpots where won with quickpicks.I agree with you there the odds were high and impossible and adding more megaballs to it just made it almost unplayable. You basically sit with 2 powerballs now as their odds are the same.Only the MegaSena have higher odds so your 2 lotteries are up there being the hardest to win.Sure its gonna influence their sales too

Some players rather than choosing to play games with million dollars jackpots, choose a game they think they can win and buy enough tickets to win a million dollars when they win. Although I've never done the math, I suspect the odds of winning a million dollars are the same either way.

There are 208 PB MM drawings held in a single year. The odds of winning the jackpots are 1 in 258 million or higher. Which means that on average, each distinct set of numbers should come in once every 1.25 million years or so. Bottom line, you can play 1 through 6 and they're just as likely to win as any other set of 6 numbers, but you'd better be in it for the long haul.

Sometimes people just wear themselves out, I have certainly gone though periods of excitement playing when the jackpots keep on rolling at max out at like 150m and it's a fun few months but then sometimes it just keeps resetting and I don't bother playing thus don't really come on the forum

So, the first two jackpots were found within the first 3.3m printed tickets (assuming few book skips), and then there was a gap of about 9 million tickets before another one was found. Good question - that person was defrauded of $3 million. I would think the next real jackpot winner after the fraud jackpots would also feel pretty cheated. That $16 million wasn't paid out but was it returned to its rightful place in the jackpot sequence and given to the next winner(s)?
