Will Texas Join.....
Quote: Originally posted by ShadyLady on May 26, 2003 now that Texas can go multi state will it be Mega Millions or Powerball What do you mean by that statement? I mean that Texas passed a bill to allow the state to join one of the multi state lotteries of which there are two, Powerball and Mega Millions. I'm asking which will Texas choose.

NY Lotto $55,000,000
Brad:The NY state legislature still prohibits the NY Lotto game from returning more than 40% to players. (This DOES NOT apply to Mega Millions, Take Five 5/39, etc.)NY Lotto 6/59 began before NY was allowed to pursue a multi-state game (in fact, the first drawing of Lotto 59 was September 12, 2001.)And, of course, NY Lotto (and Mega Millions within NY) still must choose when they PLAY instead of after they win).PS- the 5+ bonus is the ONLY positive thing about this game.

Odd question?
Both games (mega millions and powerball) have a thing in their rules that if they get some kind of payout like that...the prizes become pari-mutual. I think for mega millions if the payout is 300% or higher of the money took in then they will use that rule. Hasn't happened yet....don't think it will.Brad

Mass. 6/42 & 6/49
These days, when somebody hits Powerball, Mega Millions, or some other US jackpot game, you almost expect the winner(s) to collect the jackpot prize in lump sum. However, (although Massachusetts DOES allow its Mega Millions winners to select the cash option) its Megabucks (6/42) and Mass Millions (6/49) winners still CANNOT collect their jackpot prize in lump sum. NOTE: As of today, Mass. Keno is drawn every four minutes instead of five. Perhaps change(s) to their in-state jackpot games would

Lotto TEXAS
If Texas or any other state joins Mega Millions, they will NEVER and I mean NEVER, reach a $200 Million jackpot. It's really funny that the game has been around for about 7 or 8 months now and the closest they have come to the promised $300-500 Million jackpots is $165 Million.I've been surprised how often Mega Millions seems to be hit, considering the odds.
