I am not writing about an annuity. Then why are you using the annuity amount and not accounting for taxes? Michigan doesn't seem to be interested in telling us what the cash value is, but if the payment schedule is similar to PB or MM it should be about $7.7 million. After taxes that would be a bit better than $4.5 million, or a bit better than $225k per year tax-free if you plan to keep it under your mattress and spend 5% per year for 20 years.
