Why is it beneficial to collect a lottery jackpot as a LLC?
How do you know these folks have no problems being so high profile? I remember several years ago when Paul Allen (co-founder of Microsoft) had his identify stolen. You hardly every hear of the ones who win large jackpots going broke and worse who do not flaunt the fact that they win. They keep it private. The ones that get the headlines for the most part, are those that love all the attention a big win brings. However along with that attention comes those who want to part you from your money.

After winning jackpot where to find legal?
Lol. I forgot to add that I want to remain anonymous if possible. I've read about setting up a blind trust and other ways to make sure your name doesn't end up all over the place. But since I have a subscription, I don't know if that is possible. I know I can forego a press conference, but knowing some of my nosey relatives, one could easily google or look up to see if you came into any money. I have a cover story if anyone was to question where I got money from, lol. Oh yeah, I

Only way to get money in Pick 3
Ladies and Gentlemen, Jackpot the chimp: Jackpot says that's not his real name but he wishes to remain anonymous! He someytimes plays QP's, and in the picutre above he is contemplating cash option or annuity. He also would like to warn everyone not to get involved in any kockmaimee schemes to beat the tax people.

If you won a JP the LAST thing you would do:
I wouldn't flaunt it. Why? Because I wouldn't want to be accosted whenever I go to buy something at the store. If I did decide to flaunt it a little bit then I would do it in a foreign country, with no news reporters, and no extradition treaty with the US. That way after all the flak I could fly home and settle back into blissful anonymity. (As an aside what I would do before I claimed the jackpot since I live in a state where you can't remain anonymous and they won't let you claim thro

Question about blind trusts...
I have a question about the forming of blind trusts for anonymity: I probably will never be lucky enough to win a lottery jackpot. But if I were to ever win a jackpot in an anonymous state and form a blind trust and had an attorney to claim the prize on behalf of the trust, of course you would have to file taxes and pay fees. Here is my question: Can I be ABSOLUTELY sure that NO ONE ELSE other than me, my attorney, and the federal and state governments would know what is going on. Because if

$10M lottery winner squanders fortune
Regarding my last comment and the ones that followed, keep in mind that there are a lot of honest people in sales, even car sales! Calling all salespeople crooked is like saying school teachers or priests are pedophiles. There are bad people in every profession. Finding a good financial planner isn't much different than finding a good mechanic, except that fixing a car is something tangible. If something is broken, you fix it. But just the like lottery, guessing what might or might not happen in

Lottery winner demonstrates the right way to claim a big jackpot
A good rule of thumb is that the creation and existence of a legal entity is a public record. How many details about that entity are considered a public record will vary from state to state. Generally it would be wise to figure that there will be at least one person that is the representative of an entity, and the name and address of that person will be public. That person can be the attorney representing the actual owner(s) of the ticket. It would be wiser still to consult an attorney when the

After winning the Lottery
Of course I'd still visit the site, But I might be absent from posting for a bit, while I'm out finding an architect, finding the perfect residential lot behind a gated community, find a builder and and honest contractor in the league of Mike Holmes, buying the perfect cabinets, granite countertops, and furniture. Also shopping for my husband's Dodge Charger SRT8 with the perfect chrome package and setting up an anonymous bank for one of my sisters, so I can share my winnings with her with

Would you Win and Tell? * LP members
I'd probably tell only Todd and then ask him to tell everyone that someone here won but chooses to remain anonymous. I'd stay on the site as though nothing happened. I would then love to start a poll with the question Which member do you think won the lottery? Of course I can't do it because you'd all know it was me because of this post. Remember you gotta find me first!
