£2bn Lotto scandal
Or they could just have one giant jackpot and have a record that would never be matched. It sounds like they need to have more audits in the UK to see where their tax dollars are really going.

Powerball jackpots
I think it will be hit on Wednesday, and it will be one winner for the jackpot! But if it doesn't hit and rolls it will be a record jackpot and that's just fine with me. I will be at it again playing my #'s!

Powerball lottery fever hits the USA
It takes a lump sum of money to buy the annuity, so despite any claims to the contrary the advertised annuity jackpot is based on the cash available for purchasing the annuity. There is no such thing as the cash value of the prize, and the only thing that's actually based on the annuity value is the advertising. The only record that's being broken is for the largest advertised jackpot. If the lotteries were a private enterprise they'd probably have been sued for misleading advertising a lon

Need help with workout....
Red-Since our numbers are not going to change, do you suggest making copies of everyone who participated numbers to have a record of? I'm not sure if we are going to need the information to refer back to once we move to the next few steps or not. I was going to start doing that if it is required as well. Thanks!

Who would you tell if you won?
I would tell my mom only. I am not married and I am 26 years old...telling anyone else besides the lottery commission and any financial professionals would be too dangerous. I would not even tell my brother until well after I claimed the jackpot. I believe here in Michigan, you don't HAVE to do a press conference but your name IS public record.

Statistics ?
The nice thing about having a computer is you really don't have to know a lot about statistics to run a simulation to see what happens. If you regularly buy 100 tickets when you play PowerBall, just record them and check them after each drawing. If the older numbers win more than the most recent numbers then you will have one possible answer. I personally think 100 tickets are just as good as any other 100 tickets as long as there aren't any repeated combinations.RJOh

Recent MM and PB jackpots a fluke?
Sure they can call this the largest jackpot in history, they increased the odds to make it so. But in reality Jack still holds the record with 53 balls I believe. Why not make the jackpot next to impossible to win, that way the money just keeps growing. Because everyone has that ounce of hope...

Recent MM and PB jackpots a fluke?
I think if the average jackpots for mega millions and powerball can increase over time than that is a good thing. I do not think that the jackpots will go on record runs every time but once in awhile is better than not at all.

Buy every ticket?
If my dad and I were living in Oregon or Arizona right now, my dad would remind me to buy just one ticket [$1]. Besides RJOh, it only takes one ticket to win the largest jackpot in PB history. If no one wins the PB jackpot this Wednesday, then the North American jackpot record will shatter.

Powerball lottery fever hits the USA
I hope the jackpot rolls over and breaks the North American jackpot record holder of 363 millions set by Mega Millions [formely The Big Game]. Lots of people are going to gamble with the largest jackpot in PB history.
