Powerball lottery states report brisk sales for huge jackpot
The less you win the less coverage you get. If you win a 20 million dollar pot most states wouldn't even cover it at all. If you break a record though forget about a lack of coverage.

Buy every ticket?
Taxes already negate any advantage. The jackpot would need to really grow before the scheme payed off. And with the cap on jackpots when a new record is hit it would have to roll quite a few times to get there. By then ticket sales should surpass the number of possible combinations of numbers drawn which would mean the chances of a split jackpot would be quite high.

Powerball Lottery Jackpot Grows to New Record of $340 Million
When Jack Whittaker won the prize in 2002 the jackpot was $314.9M worthed $111.7M cash.Wednesday's jackpot is estimated to be $340.0M worthed $164.4M cash. The actual cash payout will be $50M+ more than it was when Jack won. That makes it a new record in my book.

Powerball Lottery Jackpot Grows to New Record of $340 Million
The cap should not be in effect until the next drawing (if it rolls one more time). If you calculate the annuity jackpot with the same cash to annuity ratio they had before Powerball changed this year, the jackpot is only a $300 million jackpot. $15 million less than what Jack won. By saying its a record powerball jackpot they are basically false advertising (atleast in my book).

Is a 400 million jackpot possible?
Well to get a $400 million jackpot, Powerball would have to rollover three more times with a new record jackpot now set. The jackpot will now only go up $25 million after each rollover. It may be possible to hit $400 million but I think the odds would be against it. But then again, with the way gas prices are people may not buy tickets like they did a few years back and now with more combinations to cover, you could have a significant number of combinations not being covered. Who knows?????

Is a 400 million jackpot possible?
Man that would be incredable if that happens. 400 million i wonder what the payout would be. i expect this coming week to hear record lines in all powerball states even at a 340 million jackpot. i live in NJ and i get my tickets from PA which is just accross the bridge on Saturday 15th i saw a lot of people then normal buying tickets. this coming week is going to be crazy.

Probability of a Rollover in Powerball.
Well, it's still got a bit to go to break the all-important cash value record (which I don't exactly know where it stands). But when it comes the deceptor's pot, yes just one more roll.

will powerball set a new record........
I knew it that no one would hit PB on Saturday 10/15. It rolled to 340 million because of the cap rule set by PB for Wednesday 10/19. 13 million are now in the Match 5 bonus pool for Wednesday 10/19. I hope PB rolls on Saturday 10/22 to shatter the North American jackpot record currently held by Mega Millions [formerly The Big Game] of 363 million.
