Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
I haven't touched Mega Millions since the price hike in April. I used to be a consistent 1 ticket per drawing player prior to that. It's sort of become irrelevant from my perspective. It started as $1 and a dream. Then it became $2 and a distant hope. Now it's $5 and a hard pass. Good luck to everyone with the upcoming drawings. Seems like a few of these jackpots have been rolling over for a while. Would be nice if someone finally won them.

Powerball reaches $643 million: highest lottery jackpot of 2025
Yep it's not even a top 25 jackpot per the cash value. My current buy ins at these after tax jackpots and ticket prices are $750,000,000 for Powerball and 2,500,000,000 for mega millions. Maybe Todd can start a Jokepot list starting with this one as the number one Jokepot. There are plenty of other games to play until the Jokepots get high enough To buy into

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
Look at the history of jackpots for each drawing. When one is hit, the next one starts at 50 Million. Then it increases a minimum of 10 million for each drawing, until it gets hit again. The history show that it is taking a lot more drawings before it starts to increase more than 10M. Compare those numbers to before the changeover to $5 per play. There's a lot of people not buying anymore. I was posting to a thread from when the change first began, with the last post in May, and it actu

Lottery Post for the Hobbyist and Serious Lottery Player
What are you talking about about? The lottery has lots of games. Some have progressive jackpots and some have fixed prizes. Unlike a few casino games, none of them have any play strategy. Selection of which game to play can have a bit of a strategy. I know about that book. It's excellent. I know basic strategy for any rule set, and I know how to count cards. I also know that a three digit lottery game cannot be beat.

The $29.95 Non-Believerz
but in the realm of random jackpots, the Laws of Probabilistic Mathematics reveal randomness, not a path to guaranteed success. Go Where NO Gambler Has Gone Before? Been there, done THAT -Stat$talker

chad g petey told me it only gives numbers that "appear random"
Ok that makes sense. If it used the actual draw history attempting to create combinations that feature attributes like combinations that win (much like we do with filters) and achieved a 60/40 hit rate within 10,000 combinations it would put jackpots within the range of Pick-4 Straight more often then not. BobP AI isn't what it used to be.

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
It appears many do not understand the jackpot has only been growing by the minimum $10 million per draw in order for sales to fully support the jackpot. For a place that's all about the lottery a lot of people here don't seem to know much about how things work. The jackpot for the Friday, August 1 draw will probably be around $140 million and will be fully supported by sales (or very close at least). It will be $140, and the supported jackpot is $139,672,438 (I love how the estimat

Arizona Lottery bans Fast Play bulk ticket purchases
Fast Plays are Scratcher-like games (some are duplicates of scratcher games) except instead of card, the play ticket is generated on the fly by the kiosk and replaces the play card. This opens up a number of security vulnerabilities in my mind if you have physical access to hack and reverse engineer a machine. I think they are putting too much confidence in a TPM chip securing the boot sequence. Some Fast Plays have progressive jackpots (9 of 36 games currently). A person can calculate the p

Arizona Lottery bans Fast Play bulk ticket purchases
9 out of 36 Fast Games show a progressive jackpot. And for whatever reason, the jackpot estimate shows up now when I visited the arizonalottery.com website. Go figure. My main points were Anti-buyout rules make more sense for Pick6 and Fantasy5, where the player picks the numbers and so can guarantee a buyout of all possibilities. Currently, AZ has no such anti-buyout rules for Pick6 and Fantasy5. So, AZ is highly inconsistent with their anti-buyout rules. They should have rolled out an

New Jersey Lottery lowers odds of winning Fast Play Progressive jackpot
Rocks of ruck with that. Michigan started out at 300k to 1 and then went to 400...then 500 and now 600k to one and the game just drags and the jackpots are not that much bigger. I hope the New Jersey system is better. Good luck to everyone that plays it.
