How i feel:If Todd was to charge $1/month..
Just an observation. People have ideas on how to change parts of this site when they should be offering ideas for better uses of the tools we already have. I've been wanting to hit South Dakota's Wild Card2 for a very long time...Not hit personally to predict it correct, over and over... We all want to hit a jackpot, but spending our time talking about wanting to win or how we plan to spending the winnings can't help accomplish that goal. It's possible somebody posted that Holy Grail

Really be anonymous ( powerball)
Sorry - if I hadn't waited so long, I'd edit my post. You are talking about someone who doesn't have a friend in the world and whose relatives have all disappeared. what is to the stop the guy at the gas station you bought the ticket from checking the tapes to find out that it is you! You are a regular there! Okay- this would make a good episode for one of those TV programs like Without A Trace or Law Order. You break into the store at night to steal the tape. It's dark and you tr

More than $240 million unclaimed by lottery winners
Totally disagree that this would be an advantage. What it does is seek out the lower prize winners who aren't claiming their winnings. It's bad enough that players have to wait weeks to get their money after a big win and can't remain anonymous in most states. The only way a lottery prize can be deposited in a person's account is if he registers in a central database using his name, address and social security number. So the last thing we need is more government in our lives and this would

Maryland Mega winner believes in magic
Gee, glad to know this bunch is so supportive of those who do what they wish they could do. I'm sure he would be more worthy of his winning if he were thin, handsome, and christian. The fact remains that he won, Wiccan or not. While he may have been wiser to chose the anonymous route, you have to credit him with being willing to put himself out there to help people understand his faith, which is constantly misunderstood, lambasted (look it up in your Funk and Wagnalls), ridiculed, and

Lottery winner goes from rags to riches to rags
Remaining anonymous is a great idea, but probably not realistic - even if the state's law allows it. You could do it if you want to continue with your current lifestyle (and working) and watch the interest grow unspent. Some folks might enjoy that, but not many. If you have a tough time saying no , a better option is to appoint a person to handle all money requests. That way, you don't ever have to say 'no'. Just say that All financial requests are being handled by Mr. X and hand over

selling a winning ticket
I automatically assumed the question for for someone in a state like FL where the winner's name, age and town of residence is always posted in the newspaper and on the website. I guess, since this this member is new, I shouldn't have assumed he/she read all the previous threads on this subject. I agree that you're right about the Trust, which is a good idea. However, when someone chooses to claim his money in a Trust here, the name of the winner(s) is still printed. Even when a group wins

How long until someone here wins $1,000,000+?
No. A person can't just call an ISP and ask for the personal information of the person using a certain IP. There are legal proceedings that must take place. However, in a lot of cases, you can identify the state and city based off IP. You can go to http://www.ip-adress.com, and enter an ip address, and it will give the state and city of that IP address. I don't think Todd would bother giving out that type of information though. I think you would be pretty safe, especially if you didn't give your

You win a jackpot and have to appear at a press conference
You win a jackpot, it's in a non-anonymous state, and you have to appear at a press conference. But (just for fun), you can come disguised. What's your disguise? Masks are allowed but think of one with masks not allowed, too. Have fun.

Oklahoma couple claims $106M Powerball lottery jackpot
The June 2006 Powerball jackpot winner(s) chose to remain anonymous via a trust. It was Oklahoma'a first Powerball jackpot and naturally generated a great deal of news coverage and conversation in the area, so I would guess that these latest winners, as regular lottery players, knew about the trust option. But of course this is only a guess, I could be wrong. No doubt the lottery commission is pleased by their decision to publicly claim their prize. It's great advertising for the lottery.

POLL: 'Moral' obligation for a jackpot winner
I voted no but believe they will eventually quit their jobs anyways. The auto industry has been downsizing for years so if a jackpot prize winner does quit, they probably wouldn't hire anybody to replace them and if they did, because of seniority rights that new hire would never get that job or those wages. Ford has 30 and out so it depends on the number years service an employee has and the amount of the jackpot before this scenario could even play out. This poll should be a no-braine
