S.C. man facing foreclosure wins lottery
That article doesn't really say he spends all his money playing the lottery every day. A random commenter did but didn't bring any evidence of this. Plus with only $6 left why not spend it on the lottery if there's nothing else it can go to?
Also he plans on spending most of it paying off debt, the part for the cruise isn't really a large portion considering cruises can be had for $400 per person for a week, or upwards of $1,200 a person (so a max of $4,000 for a week-long cruise).

With more money, more problems? Managing a windfall
Haven't read the article as I need to get out the door soon, but wanted to write this real quick (pertaining to the 'more problems' bit.
This is the reason I wouldn't mind winning a smaller jackpot over a big one, but don't get me wrong... I'd LOVE winning a huge one a lot more than a small one, but in a way it'd be nicer to win a smaller one. With the current Lotto Texas jackpot it's up to $8.9 million cash value which is about $5.8 million after all taxes. I'm actually hoping I win thi

Has anyone heard about this game being developed?

With more money, more problems? Managing a windfall
Financial decisions such as setting up a separate bank account for the money and, in the case of a lottery, how to handle all the attention must be made quickly. Work, for at least a day or two, may need to wait.
The above quote from the article...I literally stopped and lol'd out loud at that sentence in bold.
Work may need to wait a day or two? Win a hundred million and work may have to wait a day or two? I figured my first phone call to work would be buh-bye .

Mega Millions lottery winner recounts epic win
The article stated Mr McC------ used a combination of the couple's birthdays.
Congratulations to the winner, wish it was me even if it was one million.
Foreclosure would not be in my future.

Pet Numbers
Artemis,
I found this quote in a lottery article: play the same number each time you play, because if you are lost, you are likely to be found if you stay in the same place instead of wandering around trying to find your way back.
Did whoever wrote that win a jackpot, or was it just their opinion?
There's a post here on LP somewhere about the same numbers eventually hitting, but it may take 483 years or so.

Pet Numbers
I've been playing the same 5 sets of numbers (for both PB MM) for almost a year now, and feel that this is the best way to win.
For those of you who have been playing a special set of numbers, how long have you been doing this? Have you ever missed a draw and had your numbers come in?

Man files 27 lawsuits over alleged lost lottery ticket
Claims of losing the winning ticket is a common scam of people trying to claim a lottery jackpot that they did not win as was the case in the October Euromillions jackpot of 113m.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1321830/Euromillions-pensioner-claims-won-lottery-jackpot-husband-binned-ticket.html
Lotteries all over the world deal with hundreds of such claims every year. The real winner later came forward with the actual winning ticket.

Colossal Fail: Cowboys lottery game winners not getting tickets after all
I think they should at least honor it, would make them look good. Plus with the price of all the concession stuff they'd only have to buy one Coke and nachos a game to make up the price of the seats. From the article it doesn't seem like it's that terrible of a thing, I was thinking it was actual winners of the scratch game that wouldn't be getting the tickets and not just second-chance winners. That would be a colossal fail as it would be the prize printed on the ticket and they wouldn't be get
