Friday I played 21 lines in MegaMillions and Saturday I played 23 lines in OhioSuperLotto and won nothing in either of the games. So Tuesday I plan to play 52 lines in MegaMillions that include the 5 most inactive and the 5 most active numbers in two lines with all the Mega balls to be sure I will get at least $2 back. I will use the $2 to buy SuperLotto tickets on Wednesday. Same results, about the same cost and more enjoyment. RJOh

The Big Game which became Mega Millions in May 2002 made headlines in May of 2000 when it offered the largest jackpot - $363 million - in North American history. Keep in mind that The Big Game offer that size jackpot with ~1:80M odds of winning which was a lot better than the present odds of Mega Millions or Power Ball. With more States playing the game, there will higher tickets sales but faster jackpot growth so a $300M+ jackpot can be expected sooner or later.RJOh

When ever PowerBall have gone over $200M, I would drive over to Indiana and pick up enough tickets for two draws to make it worth the drive and I always won at least 30% of the money I spent on tickets. I have $17 worth of tickets from the end of May to turn in if I ever get back over that way. Now that MegaMillion is over $200M and a 30 minute walk from my house, maybe I'll pick up as many tickets as I would if I drove a hundred miles to get them.RJOh

With approximately 1000 residents per retailer and getting about 5 per play, those retailers got to sell more than just lottery tickets to make a living. Doesn't look like anyone controlling the number of points of sales.RJOh

$300M+ jackpot? Could happen real soon if MegaMillions rolls over 2 or 3 more times, but I and thousands of other lottery players will be trying to stop that run this Tuesday. A $210M jackpot is enough for me.RJOh

I was checking the previous 9 drawings in all the lotteries that I play and did find something interesting in the MegaMillions games. The results for 5/14/04, 4/23/04, 4/02/04 and 3/19/04 show a pattern that had all 5 winning numbers in a group of 15-22 numbers on those dates. Had a player been wheeling those numbers, he might had matched 5 or maybe even hit the jackpot with some luck on those dates. I may put those numbers in a $10-$15 wheel tonight and see what happens.RJOh
