Florida Scratch Offs - Post Pictures if posible
Is ezmatch the way to go with Fantasy 5? I've also read a lot of people say Cash 3 is the best game to play as far as odds, which I haven't really looked at on these games.
Question on the FL scratchers where top prize is 500k or less. I know on the 1M or more top prizes, there is a lump sum/annuity, however is there also a lump sum/annuity on the 500k or less top prizes? In the news section on the FL Lottery site, it never mentions a lump sum amount for the 500k winner announcements, so not

$348 MILLION: April misses bring May riches
Finally, someone who's using their noggin. As you say, this topic has been discussed almost to death and there is no point in rehashing pros and cons, and so I won't.
But what I can't grasp is why anyone actually feels the money would be safer from scammers in annuity form. It's almost as if they think that money not yet disbursed is in some kind of magical vault where liens, suits, scams and indebtedness don't apply. The tragedy and the irony is that those are the people who usually end up

Has anyone noticed the change?
ArizonaDream wrote: The difference I think you are missing, is that Texas (and Illinois) bump up the the lotto annuity jackpot by a fixed 250,000 with every rollover, while the MM/PB jackpot goes up by an amount directly tied to sales .
I did not think we are debating per se; just trying to get our facts straight. I am happy to have my mistakes pointed out.
I don't know anything about Illinois. And I have not looked at MM rules recently.

It should be self-evident that the Lotto

Has anyone noticed the change?
The Powerball cash value used to be approximately 62% of the annuity jackpot amount.
Now, it has been about 66% of the annuity jackpot amount.
Has anyone else noticed that and know the reason why the cash value percentage would change?

Mark Cuban's Advice to Winner
At 1.5 billion bucks, or almost $700mm after taxes, I'd make a list of family and friends that i'd set up for life. Like, I'd easily give my mother and three sisters $20 million each no problem, and I'd pay the gift tax no worries. Unless it's a state where you can divide the winnings as you see fit as you claim the prize. I'd keep $300mm and give the rest away to close family and a few close friends (and of course some to charities over the years).
And on the flip side, I'd even consider the

Why Isn't the Next Powerball Jackpot Higher than Minimum?
Lottoreport shows sales of $23,900,282 for the starting jackpot of the last run. That would put about $8,126,000 in the jackpot pool, which is enough for an annuity of $13,106,606. Actually funding the starting jackpot annuity would take sales of about 3 times the normal amount. The last PB jackpot to get past $500 million was almost a year ago, and sales for the next starting jackpot were $29 million.
Based on results from the past year we might see the first increase of more than the $10 mi

POWERBALL CREATES WORLD'S FIRST BILLION-DOLLAR JACKPOT
Those are minority circumstances tough and MUCH lower annuities. One would have to be REALLY stupid to burn through that much money. For me I would be set for life after the first check, the rest would be all gravy. I have been self-employed for 25 years and used to work a bank so my only team will be ME as there is an M and E in team. This annuity is astronomical and one payment alone is higher than the MM starting jackpot. You will getting WAY more than anyone else ever did with this annuity a

POWERBALL CREATES WORLD'S FIRST BILLION-DOLLAR JACKPOT
Annuity: supreme trust in the government to live up to its obligations for 30 years without politicians deciding there's a better purpose for those funds
Cash: under my control
I did hear about a couple who claimed a jackpot, one taking the cash option and the other the annuity. If it's a big enough jackpot, it might be worth considering.

POWERBALL CREATES WORLD'S FIRST BILLION-DOLLAR JACKPOT
Federal tax rate isn't 25%, but rather much as 39.6%. Depending on what account maneuvers the winner is able to take, the actual amount could be low as $800 million or so. Still a bundle of money, but $800 million paid over 30 years isn't overly compelling when compared to $500 million after tax lump-sum.
The main advantage of an annuity is reducing tax liability, but when the numbers are as large as those you posted, it makes no meaningful difference. Many feel it's best to take all the cash

$800 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot approaches billion-dollar range
Gleno,
Along with what Teddi said, how about those who chose the annuity and wind up selling it to one of those 'need cash now' companies?
Also, someone here at LP used to have a signature, You can always buy a better annuity .
