Why the sudden concern with anonymity ?
rundown99...regarding your comments about claiming as a trust through lawyers, I understand your concern. If able to claim a prize that way, I would think there would be a manner to establish the trust where you, the winner, are a trustee in control of the funds and the attorney acts at your direction. You can be certain these would be the type of questions I would get answers to before establishing the trust. If I didn't like the answer I would get a second opinion just to be sure. Yes,

Why the sudden concern with anonymity ?
BLIND TRUST POWERBALL: LA, NH, OK, PA I don't know if Pennsylvania allows anonymity through a blind trust. It's obvious that the other states allow anonymity, because of the numerous anonymous claimants from those states in the past.

Why the sudden concern with anonymity ?
PS If all the winners were anonymous, the news agencies would never 'cover' it anymore, and ticket sales would plunge. More people buy tickets when they see on the TV News or hear on the Radio News that the jackpot is 150 mill or more - especially when it gets over 200 mill. They won't publicize it on the news if they can't publicize the winner: kinda imagine all the publicity leading up to the Daytona 500, seeing it in the news every day, but you are forbidden to release any results after

I am going to try to change the rules about annonymity...
Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery so the huge jackpot winners get National attention but individual states have to determine how the anonymity issue affects their games. They advertise the jackpot amounts so more people will play and when players read or hear that the winner bought 3 QPs using their change after a purchase at a mini-mart, it gives them reason to continue playing. A story about a Grandma winning by playing the birthdates of her 6 grandkids is even better. I don't know tha

One could play in a state that allows you to remain anonymous (KS, MD, ND, DE, SC, LA, NH, OH, OK, PA) if that is possible. Mega Millions and Power Ball I do untill the other states will do the same (if they will ever do the same) Good luck with your endeavor MegaWinner I hope you succeed.

Maybe get the lottery officials to see the benefits of jackpot and 2nd prize winners remaining anonymous. Has it ever occurred to you state lottery commission have discussed this and came to the conclusion it's more beneficial too all the players that the identities of jackpot winners be known? Most players don't care who wins the jackpots as long as they know that somebody actually won them. The lotteries are run by state governments so a list of winners is part of public record. Why s

Why the sudden concern with anonymity ?
This went up after MegaWinner started the thread about his campaign to win and change the anonymous rules, but it might have something to do with your question: https://www.lotterypost.com/news/152791.htm Can't link right now...look in News, Photo

Why the sudden concern with anonymity ?
I don't know about anyone else on this site but I can sure tell you one thing, I HOPE I win the Mega Millions and/or Powerball jackpot(s). And even though I speak about anonymity the way I do, the fact remains that I wouldn't turn down a jackopt because I couldn't remain anonymous. I think we speak about it because this is a message board to discuss all things lottery related (of course without breaking any of Todd's rules). I mean, just because we speak about it doesn't make us hell-bent,

1. I've got a great sense of humor. I find megawinner's idea of getting a bunch of past lottery winners together to wage a battle for anonymity almost hysterical. 2. Roe v Wade has nothing to do with the lottery but everything to do with being party to (arguably) the most famous case in the history of SCOTUS, while remaining mostly anonymous. 3. The real identity of Roe is well known now because she chose to give up her anonymity many years after the case was decided.

Justxploring You are now the most famous person who won a case against a state lottery for the right to remain anonymous. This is still funny!
