S.C. Lottery posts wrong numbers; causes pay off problems
When Roy Corbitt went to collect on a winning lottery ticket, he was expecting a payout of $9 or $10. I know I had three numbers. I didn't really know I had four. That's why I was shocked when they guy said, 'you won $600'. When Corbitt went to the lottery claims office to collect his winnings, he was told that there was a problem with his ticket. He wasn't alone.Corbitt said several people also came to claim their money. A lot them had $600 or $700 like I did, Corbitt explained. But instead

420 in ohio
Hi all....saw the posts about the full moon being over, the repeats of 420/236 and the triple 111's coming. I wondered if any of you saw the WBNS broadcast on the first day triple one's were drawn? June 17th, midday. My friends and I called the Lottery Commission and they claimed it was a WBNS broadcast error. WBNS never even addressed it. A couple of my friends were playing the triple ones, but not that day. The Lottery Commission representative said that a lot of calls were received th

Favorite Draw Show
Here is what makes a good draw show: 1. Actual Ball Drawings (Duh!) 2. A good draw host/hostess. (They bring in the viewers.) 3. A nice, eye-catching set (This is where NY can be lacking at times.). 4. Nice, colorful balls. White balls are ok, but IL really had an idea when they started using colored balls. 5. Not just picking the numbers and announcing them. Lotteries should advertise for instant tickets, or announce the next jackpots dring the draw show. 6. Not Yolanda Vega (Seriously,

stages of education
Of course it goes deeper than that. common sense is inherited in some people i think, but not others. My mother used to say she could talk to people for 5 minutes and know if they had common sense or not. Some astrological signs have more common sense than others i think. People develop common sense by trial and error. I think after you fail at some things, by doing the same task over and over you develop the beginnings of a common sense approach to things. A lot of people do stupid things but c

Sign the petition - eliminate computerized drawings!
Bryan,This is a perfect example of a problem. Programmer error and lack of testing. The advantages of having a computer drawing wasn't utilized. Such as 1000s of tests at a time to look for trends. All you can do with a computer to see if there is a problem (without going through the computer code) is to look for trends. With lottery balls the only thing you can look for are defects in the machine/balls/etc. These are two different approaches. However, the problem was fixed. Now the code never a

My Lastest reply from the Hoosier lottery
Subj: Re: Prize PayoutsDate: 3/21/05 4:53:56 PM Central Standard TimeFrom: PlayerSupport@HoosierLottery.com I am in receipt of your recent e-mail to the Hoosier Lottery. The Lottery made the important decision to use computerized draws forseveral reasons. As you know, the odds of 4 distinct numbers beingdrawn in any order are approximately 1:416.67. Depending on the year(leap year, etc.), there are approximately 679 drawings for Daily 4throughout the year. Therefore, one could argue that the

Discovered an interesting anomaly. While doing the math and checking back history, I realized I could be making an error. In my math, I simply subtracted 105 from 621 (621-105=516). However, I wonder if I should not be doing it as 6-1=5, 2-0=2 5-1=4 yeilding 524.Now for the fun part. It turns out that this is actually a rare anomaly and only happens occasionally. Also, a breif review indicates that using the individual values produces less results. So far, the following rules seem to somewhat o
