Okla. lawmaker aims to stop lottery winners from staying anonymous
I think anyone and everyone has to right to remain anonymous if they win the jackpot. Not everyone wants that rockstar status that wreakshavock mentioned. I'd want to walk around with a big bankroll and have people in awe and wonder what the heck I do for a living, and how I got my money. I don't want a soul knowing how much I have in my bank account. It's no one's business!!!
Perhaps the government and the state should do a background check when they're taking out taxes to make sur

Internet Gambling Is Dead
Your ISP won't encrypt and anonymize your internet connection, but you can buy programs that will encrypt your connection and route it thru a chain of anonymous proxy servers that will hide your true IP number or whatever and from where your connection originated.
But I read that if your ISP and or the government want(s) to follow you that they can and that they would be able to tell where you have been on the internet.
They say that the weakest point is at the ISP level, they say that the

Ga. maintenance man wins Mega Millions lottery jackpot
Exactly. It is not so much what you do, as what you tell everyone you will do. Jackpot paranoia is what feeds many of these so called professional leeches. Some are legitimate, but many look to capitalize off your big win. I would not say anything to anyone until the money was in my bank account. It is just sad that there are so many potential obstacles involved after beating such high odds. It is best to give very little or false information for your own protection at the press conference.

Did the Oklahoma Lottery break its promise?
Published by the Muskogee Phoenix
August 17, 2006
The Oklahoma Lottery Commission may not be doing anything different than lotteries in other states in allowing trusts to claim prizes, but we don't want to be like other states.
We want winners identified just as the commission said they would be identified with the minimum name and hometown.
Despite stating on its Web site that winners cannot be anonymous, the commission allowed the June 17, $101.8 million Powerball winners to claim

How much have you WON?
Saleo,
Congrats on that win. That is the thrill of a lifetime. There are others here who have won similar prizes but choose to remain anonymous and that's cool with me and I won't be revealing any identities. The votes in the last category in the poll isn't as much BS as we might think.
I've won numerous $290 and $330 prizes on the pick 3 but not enough to show a profit to date.
If I win IL Little Lotto tonight (over 1.2 mil) I might update this post but probably not.

Powerball lottery jackpot raised to $155 million
I'D TAKE ALL OF MINE IN ONE LUMP SUM.
IF I COULD TAKE THE ANONYMOUS OPTION IN LOUISIANA I DEFINITELY WOULD.
WHY WAIT 20 YEARS for an annuity?
MAKE CERTAIN THAT YOU DO something with the money!!!!

Why It Is Important to Remain Anonymous.
you are indeed my correct my friend. take it from someone who knows first hand. i did win a substantial jackpot 6 years ago.. at the time of my win, i was young, naive, and like many, thought it was the greatest thing to be featured in front of the cameras, doing news conferences. etc. in hindsite, i wish i had tried to remain a bit more inconspicuous. i lost about all my supposed friends, lost relationships with just about all my family, as they were all there with there hands out....waiting...

Best place to live if you won
People talk about moving if they win, but where is the best place to live if you win a big jackpot?
For one thing, I'd like a place with a nice climate, good tax structure so I can keep more of what I won, somewhere easy to remain relatively anonymous, somewhere peaceful and quiet.
Does anyone know of such a place?

Lottery Discussion
If I had to talk to the press, I would definitely add I want to say hello to all my friends at Lottery Post.com but otherwise I would try to remain anonymous. Sometime in the future after I got settled and my financial affairs were in order, I would write to Todd and give him an exclusive interview. I'd like to move to a place where nobody knows me and I can live a normal life in a modest home driving a Civic, so I really don't want my picture to be all over the internet. It would depend o

Windfall: Episode 1.01
Looks like there could be some interesting twists.
I think everyone who has posted in the polls here on the board abut remaning anonymous or not - the ones who voted they wouldn't- might want to pay a little extra attention to all this.
Granted it's fiction, but.....
