Lottery Poll
I've always wondered about those who say they'd start a business of they won a big jackpot. When you're in business you're married to it and give it a lot of time.
Also, those who say they'd keep working at their job - if a regular working slob hits a jackpot I think they'd be obligated to free the job up for someone who really needs it.
I voted change my phone number in the poll - if I could remain anonymous I'd stay put, if not I'd probably go to the mattresses and disappear fo

True story long ago from a Lotto Georgia winner who was asked what he and his wife planned to do with their jackpot win. Their answer was to buy a double-wide and move to Alabama. They've remained anonymous because we haven't heard anything from them since.

LP readers, read this online article
I was just curious about the topic of anonymity, and I came across this article

Only three states allow winners to be completely anonymous under ALL circumstances whatsoever (Delaware, North Dakota, and Kansas). Some other states will allow it, but only if you have an attorney claim the prize or until a Freedom of Information Act is requested. If you find any other articles about this topic, let me know.

Five People From Lubbock Win $36 Million Texas Lotto Jackpot
One winner, a single grandmother, said the money isn't as important as the safety of her family and that's why she wants to remain anonymous. She says the group is consulting a lawyer about splitting up the money.
She's a wise grandma.
I like reading about when groups win. I agree Just6ntlc. I hope things work out for them. Hopefully no one comes out of the wood-work claiming that they were part of the group.

Multiple jackpot wins question?
I was just thinking what would I do if I won mulitple jackpots. I have tickets for Powerball for Sat and I'll be getting tickets for MegaMillions for Tues. I was thinking how would someone handle this situation? A problem I'm sure alot of us would like to have!! Not likely but fun to ponder. I would most likely claim the Powerball jackpot first because I know a real good tax attorney in my area who knows how to handle money and invest it well. He's also pretty well connected in town and kno

Lottery winners share money advice
OK so after reading some of this... I thought that if you win the lottery and are not in arrears with your child support since its not a earned income that they could not take any to Child Support..is this not so? In Ohio I know that we are able to keep ourselves anonymous and that is a beig relief! I mean you all know as well as I do that we would have relatives coming out of the wood work!! Any one and everyone standing there thinking that you owe them something. NOPE not me! I mean dont ge
