POLL: Lotterey players, the wealthy
Interesting stat here folks about people hating their jobs - I remember reading this in a health newsletter- the most common time for heart attacks to occur in america is a Monday morning during the usual commute to work time. The wrtier of the article stated that some people hate the thought of going back to a job they hate so bad that their body actually says, Well, OK , and shuts down on them. Personally, I think two of the greatest gifts we can have in this life are a job you really enoy

Police arrest four in Chicago lottery ticket scam
The article indicated: The suspects would approach a victim two at a time and explain they were illegal immigrants and had a winning lottery ticket of more than one million dollars. Isn't this kindness personified. Possibly one illegal resident, helping another? Now that's truly SHARING the luck. People who were resourceful enough to enter the good 'ole U.S.A. illegally prove that they are able to help themselves to what they want repeatedly. Also, it's an alarming cost comment #1 about p

Store clerk accused of stealing $1M lottery ticket from customer
Well it's happened again, this time it was in Columbus,Ohio and it's the store owner who complained he owned the ticket. He didn't suspect anything until after the worker quited and cashed in a $2M scratch-off. http://www2.nbc4i.com/cmh/news/local/article/owner_worker_stole_lottery_tickets_hit_jackpot/26107/ What's up with people from the mid-east working in stores selling lottery tickets, hitting a jackpot and then hitting the road?

Victim of stolen Texas lottery ticket says he knows how to get money back
Agree with JAP, he should have filed a police report already. I'm missing one thing in this story .... what proof does Mr. Willis have that the ticket belonged to him? Did either article state that Mr. Willis had played the same numbers over and over, therefore had non-winning tickets to back up his claims? Or did it mention that Mr. Willis had a copy of the ticket? Still seems to come down to one basic thing, check your tickets yourself .. always .... and don't let it leave your hands un

Calif. Lottery pays out $264,000 after game show mistake
The article indicated, They were allowed to keep their winnings including Josefina Sineriz,of Bakersfield, who won $2.8 million when she otherwise would have played for the show's $2,000 consolation prize. If I was one of those 9 players, I'd be furious and heartbroken! I'd soon be realizing that of we 9, that one of us would have won that $2.8 million or possibly more!!! However, this is what happens when employees get rewarded for RUSHING their work (and those who slow down and PROO

Can I get some help with online lottery tax info
The article clearly says However, the Internal Revenue Code and supporting IRS precedent do not provide any specific guideline on when a gambling activity begins and ends in order to determine whether the particular activity resulted in a win or a loss. How can I be wrong if the IRS has no precedents or guidelines? And by the way, I never thought you were a tax expert.

N.H. man turns lottery losses into 1,500 wins
........four bottles of maple syrup, 20 pizzas, 33 ice cream cones, 86 cinnamon buns, 92 steakhouse gift certificates, 161 chicken sandwiches, and 484 cups of coffee to wash it all down. 484 cups of coffee? Wow. This article is kind of misleading. I thought his wins were much smaller money prizes, not junk food. I'm sure it feels good to win something but a cinnamon roll? C'mon! These lottery losses have sure turned into gains alright............. around the waistline!

Should we trust?
It's not a well written article, but he didn't hack into an RNG comuter that generates winning numbers. What he did was create entries for fake winning tickets. While the story isn't completely clear, the hacker worked for a company that worked with the Shenzhen lottery center. This isn't any different than somebody who works for G-Tech or Scientific Games creating entries for fake winning tickets. Running a lottery requires having computers and employees, and some employees will always use thei

Computerized Drawings
http://www.cigital.com/papers/download/developer_gambling.php Raven, Pick4hawk sent me this link regarding computerized gambling in general. It's a very good article and makes lots of sense when you consider the factors. I suppose it can be a toss up between the two types but, I prefer the good 'ole air and ball style. Why? Computers definitely have memory and depending on how you filter, it can make or break your hit. Check it out. 'Match
