Which is better, Skill or Luck?
Bingo! That captures it perfectly.I bowl, shoot pool and play cards, and it took me years of practice to be skilled at playing them. i am so good i have confidence going after even the best. But playing the lottery it's impossible to gauge as a skill. Because nobody wins on consistent basis. It's dumb luck.

20 co-workers share largest Lotto Max jackpot ever
it's just human nature. some of them (employees who didnt' get into the pool that day) will put on a good front but will do the eye roll when one of the winning stayers are guffawing at their desks. not really being concerned about the company's welfare. if they still want to work they should go somewhere else to do it.

PA Raffle Tickets on Sale - Drawing July 11, 2015
CW, let me add my thanks to yours to Ron for his absolutely fantastic post! I cant make up my mind with regard to what to do next time. (If there is a next time and I hope there will be!) My gut tells me there can't be any connection to when a ticket is sold and the winning numbers drawn, but from reading Ron's post, seeing is believing. Ron, I'm located in NY and live/work about 60 miles from the PA border. It's very easy for me to drive to PA via Interstate 84 in about an hour's time.

Would you stop playing the lottery if you were restricted to Quick Picks?
You seem to be missing the point. If a system actually worked the lottery would pay out more than probability suggests, and they would therefore pay out more than they budgeted for. Since systems don't work the lottery safely relies on the consistent profits guaranteed by probability instead of worrying about a system presenting an obstacle. The Masachusetts game never offered anybody a better chance of winning. It just moved money from the jackpot prize pool to the lesser prizes. That allowe

Would you stop playing the lottery if you were restricted to Quick Picks?
I would not play if quick picks were my only option. The work groups I play in are a function of whom ever is purchasing the tickets - so I don't have a say in how they are selected, but my 4 tickets each week (1 powerball each draw and 1 megamillions each draw) are self pick from a pool of 21 numbers that we (family) rotate between.

PA Raffle Tickets on Sale - Drawing July 11, 2015
Thanks for that reply. Even with the better odds, still did not hit anything. Between my two tickets and the 13 from the work pool, not a single number hit, not even for 100 dollars.

...hi guys, please advise me
You could always put the numbers you want to choose from in a bag, and do a blind draw for the remainder numbers. Thats what i do when I have a pool of numbers to choose from.
