Lottery 'glitch' leaves players suspicious
Hargrove said fraud was unlikely on anyone's part because a player would have to have bought $1 tickets for all 720 unique combinations of numbers to ensure being a winner in the Cash 3 game - for a payout of just $500. For a $5,000 prize in Cash 4, a player would have had to have bought 5,040 tickets. What she has figured is true but why play all the combinations when you could just play half and still have a good chance of doubling your money, or even playing 1/3, or 2/3 of the combinations

Official wants fraud probe of Tennessee Lottery
I doubt it was an intentional error or fraud. Most likely it was the result of a software person making a change (or setting an parameter incorrectly) and then making the MAJOR MISTAKE of not TESTING the system after the change. A SIMPLE software test would have caught this problem. By running a trial statistical sample and looking at the results, it would have been obvious that something was wrong when number combinations had 0.00% hits. Either way, fraud or an unintentional mistake, this

Arizona Lottery winner shows what not to do with $6.7M
Just because this man claimed bankruptcy doesn't mean he's broke. I wish I had listened to an attorney many years ago and claimed bankrupty when I moved here, but I was brought up to pay my bills. Florida is one of the few states with a Homestead Act that puts no limit on the value of your home when filing for personal bankruptcy. It's always been common practice for millionaires to move to Florida, buy a mansion on the beach, and file for bankruptcy while hiding money in other places. (remembe

The possibilities for fraud in RNG games
Most of us don't have the option of playing state games without playing RNG. Everyone says they don't trust it, don't like it. What do you really think? J

Prime ticket service
I use them about two times per week, and I haven't had any problems with my credit card getting declined.Maybe they are just using a picky credit card processor, which is thinking you're posting duplicate orders or something. Who knows what can trigger an alert these days, when credit card fraud is rampant, and these credit card companies are getting anxious.A couple of suggestions I would offer would be to (a) group your purchases together, so that you put everything you want in your cart at o

Indiana, RNGs & Allegations: Time to Test
We've all read the numerous posts about the Hoosier Lottery's use of RNGs. Most people seem to think that there's something crooked going on. I'll have to admit that I at first thought all the charges of fraud were altogether groundless. After looking at the payouts on Indiana's daily games, I began to think that there was perhaps some substance to accusations made against the Hoosier Lottery. Now, I'm thinking that the lottery games in Indiana simply aren't very popular. That would very easily

Wisconsin Lottery switches to computers to select winning numbers
Todd,I was having a little fun with the comment about fraud and mechanicals. Of course, RNG's haven't been around long enough to get much history and they are happening at a time when the drawing process has become extremely controlled. It certainly is people who commit the fraud - and the reason that the process, rather than the method, is the key to having a fair drawing. I agree that there is just something about a mechanical drawing - kind of like watching the needle drop on a spinning LP

Missouri Lottery Ignites Controversy with Computerized Drawings
There is so much inherent fraud that can accompany computer generated lottery picks, that I will quit playing the game if IL decides to go this route and go back to collecting stamps and coins....at least they are a relatively honest hobby. To my IL buds, if this happens here, I'm gone and it won't be because of computer problems.Take heed, lotto directors...we don't want your fraudulent approaches to what once was a decent game, even though you take 50% of the proceeds for education....(by the
