Punter wins $30 million jackpot
A punter from the NSW far north coast is $30 million (US$22.3 million) richer after winning the entire first division in last night's Powerball - the equal-biggest lottery win in Australia. (Editor: Australian Powerball, not the US multi-state Powerball)But NSW Lotteries said the ticket holder from the coastal town of Yamba, who won the major prize with a $12.70 (US$9.43) computer-generated ticket, wanted to remain anonymous.Last night's win follows the first - and controversial - $30 million P

Elderly man loses $8,000 to con men
San Jose police Thursday released composite sketches of two men sought in a recent lottery scam in which an elderly man lost $8,000 cash while trying to help a man he believed held a winning ticket.A pair of men approached the 81-year-old victim Wednesday while he was walking out of a Kmart at McKee Road and Jackson Avenue and separately asked him for directions. The online lotto tickets
twisted,My understanding is that the 1% ownership is a legal necessity, because it allows them to act on your behalf to cash smaller winnings, etc. Anyone who does not have the 1% clause runs the risk of legal problems later, which can invalidate your jackpot win. You tell me, which is the better scenario? If you're going to quibble about 1%, that's crazy. You should be more concerned with where they buy the ticket - Delaware - whch has no state tax and allows you to remain anonymous. Your ex

Where would you go if.....
dowser, i play the mega-millions game so i am not sure exactly what the georgia lottery (where i would collect) has in mind for those that want to collect anonoymously. i know this, i would go out of my way to collect as anonymous as possible. if that meant wearing a chicken costume, so be it. i prefer ELVIS but we will see what the costume shop has when i win (lol). i would defintely have my address changed to a P.O. box before i collected so that would help with people coming to my front door.

Keeping it quiet
lottoneel, it wouldn't really matter. if you win you don't tell ANYONE. you get your ducks in a row with your estate lawyers, financial advisors. you let THEM collect your massive 500+mega-millions prize for you. they will collect it on your behalf in an anonymous trust. the lottery that DOES disclose lottery info will disclose the name of your trust , not your name. the name of your trust will then become public info and while people start their little process of coming after you (they wil

Keeping it quiet
different lottery's have different disclousure agreements. let's focus on the ones that insist that they blab all the information about you across the world. you still can remain anonymous. you have your financial monkeys set up a trust in a fictiteous name. (i.e., not covenant inc). that will weed out most but not all. some will be able to put two and two and still make three. so you eliminate that by re-creating your situation by turning around and changing / re-structuring the trust into a di
