Lottery draw witnesses
Browsing through the PA Lottery site I came across this. Seems they invite folks unconnected to the lottery to witness the drawings, tests, compliance with procedures, both before and after the draws. I've looked at a lot of official lottery sites, but I've never seen reference to such practices by other states. Most don't even make it easy to discover when and where drawings are conducted. Seems to me this is a great means of maintaining public involvement and trust. Are any of you a

MyComputer got Hacked!!
Pac, looks like you already got some good advice, but do you run Hijack this? It will tell you exactly what's running when you open your browser, but I wouldn't delete anything without checking with someone first. BTW, there is a Yahoo board that is very helpful called CHAD. (computer help and discussion) Lots of techs who get bored at work give free advice. I once sent the hijack log to the moderator and he sent me a private email telling me exactly what to do and my trojan was removed. I had

SA Duty This Weekend.
Anyone wanna figure this one out? This weekend, on Security Aide Duty, I had a total of 5 writeups. 1 on Friday, 4 on Saturday. 4 of the 5 were in the same complex (as in they all were e-mailed to the same person). 2 of them (in that complex) were for pot. 1 was for alcohol. 1 was for having an illegal pet. Does that mean I should play all combinations of 1-2-4-5? Can anyone figure out if this means something?

Do all lottery winners end up being...
I read someplace awhile back that several of the lottery winners stay in touch, and have their own networking scheme to assist each other. I'd imagine they would know and understand the problems of sudden jackpot wealth better than most. It's also wise for them to remain underground to some extent. One big winner said that people assume all lottery winners are more accessible than regular rich people, and are easier to reach and bother. He said that, at first, especially where he lived (

NY-W4--Apr 21-24th
Yes, you will get taxed on it. From the NY Lottery web site: Federal, state and local income taxes are withheld from prizes over $5,000 or from prizes over $600 when the winner does not present a social security number. Withholding varies according to the winner's place of residence. In some cases, Public Assistance/Child Support offsets may be applicable. If taxing is a concern for you, just have them to withhold the tax at the time you claim your money then you won't have

Moving before claiming your lotto winning
People move all the time, and it isn't that odd that someone should happen to move just after they win. Agree completely! The IRS doesn't care if you move, even if you leave the country, as long as you obey the law and pay your taxes. Wanting your privacy is not the same as deception. It would be dishonest if it was to save on taxes or skip out on a financial obligation like child support. When you claim your ticket, your social security number will be run anyway to check your background

Man charged with forging lottery ticket claims it was a joke
In Maryland when you go to lotto headquarters they run your social security number your driver license number and any other numbers associated to you. They know within minutes what you owe if you owe or if there are warrants for you, outstanding parking tickets, judgments the works. This is a state run office. I know guys that thought they would fool the system get someone else to cash their ticket. And when the second party went in to cash his friends ticket this guy owed like 2,000 dollars

Thanks KR , I kind of work differently, I can work 75 days on and 35 off, or I can work 105 days on and 75 off , or I can work 140 days on and 75 off. It's up to me. Lottery winners share money advice
Methinks the IRS is smart enough to know that paying someone a million or several million dollars a year for unskilled labor is a sham and the person who tries would be treated accordingly. And even if it did work, that money would be taxed again as salary, so it would be taxed twice. And if the amount was great enough, that would also be in the 24-35% marginal tax bracket, after the grandparents had already paid 25-35% tax on the amount. Plus the employer and employee would have to pay s

MA screwing pick 4 players
Really? State only tax winning over $600? I thought all winning are subject to state income tax. In addition, some states like MA wouldn't allow you deduct your lost, which means if you win $100 and lose $100, you pay tax for $100 on actual winning nothing. I think statement like tax cuts for the rich is reasonable. Goverment needs to spend money no matter where tax come from. So if one part of tax is cut, goverment would come up with some other ways to tax people later. That changes the p
