New York - May 1st 08 to May 31st 08
I once read in an article somewhere that there is a cap on how much NY lottery will pay out on one number in one draw. It is something like 5 million dollars per draw. So a popular number like 222 can will close out when $20,000 dollars times $250 worth of tickets is sold towards a straight win. That would be the total number sold to anyone in any part of the state or Bahamas---where ever NY lotto is played.
(My figures could be wrong but it is just an example) I know as a fact that triples c

Man claims $16M Florida Lotto prize
Florida doesn't have MM or PB. This article is about the Florida Lotto. It is a 6/53 game that starts at $3 million and rolls each time nobody wins. The extra $1 adds $10 million as a bonus and, if you spend $3 per ticket, the bonus is increased to $25 million. In all cases, you can choose to take your prize as a lump sum (averaging 55% of the total) or a 30 year annuity. The winner in this story won $6 million and added $1 for a total of $16 million and took the lump sum. All I was saying is th

Scratcher tricks to success
Good for you. Don't believe it. I notice the same thing in Georgia. But believe it or not I read where in one state not only do they keep track of the roll a big win ticket is in but also where it goes. I read the article on this website. But I can't remember the state. I do believe that all states have the same basic rules. So yeah, nc knows, not only what roll but also where it goes. I wrote the ga lottery comms. about the same thing. All big winning tickets were in the same area. It was unbel

Thought to ponder on lotto plays
I think there was a news article not to long ago about it.
Someone sent their money in to the state lottery for a years worth of plays. The lottery got the money and numbers ahead of a drawing. They did not process it until after the drawing .
The winning numbers came out after they received the money and numbers and before it was processed. There was a big stink about it.

Will you spend any of your stimulus check on the lottery?
Well if the government wants me to purchase luxury items with that money they are out of luck as we just spent 900 dollars on heating oil. Now days, I consider staying warm a luxury. Seeing that the majority of our oil comes from other countries, I guess I just helped them!
If they want me to jump our economy they best give me more money! The rest of the money, I shall save to my 18 month old daughters checking account.
I have pretty good success with only playing a few numbers as day and

Scientific Games wins Pennsylvania Lottery contract
Interesting article. Comes as no surprise that the cheapest would fair out in the PA Lottery. Let me rephrase that, perhaps not cheapest so much as most beneficial to upping the revenue retained and lessening the payouts to players by changing the provider and the game plans. Look for more numbers in Powerball and our good ole PA Match 6 and Cash 5 game. It will change and it wont be to keep current players but to thwart them away with the odds increasing.
I can guarantee that the glitches in

$13 million Florida Lotto winner dies a pauper
That sure looks like where we're headed. Agreed.
Thing is, every lottery winner (not to mention the rest of us) is going to die, and we don't know when. IMHO if I ever won a multi-million dollar jackpot, I sure wouldn't want to die while I still had all that money. I remember reading a news article somewhere where a woman won a jp and she was hit by a car and killed on the way from filing her claim.
Better to die right after you spent the last buck. After all, you can't take it with you.
