So, the lottery has yet to produce a single Billion Dollar Winner.
That $1.6B jackpot was just the beginning of a VERY interesting year. We will probably, no, will most likely see 5 more billion+ jackpots this year. Like, every 2 months.

Now that the dust has settled on the Powerball jackpot. .
If no one wins, in two months, we're going to be right back where we were. As far as the odds go, they are perfectly set. Just high enough that we will have exciting jackpots 6 times a year. Roughly speaking. I'm glad that 1.5+ billion jackpot wasn't a one time thing.

Play less money when the jackpot gets that high. I still see even more people in same places that normally win the jackpots playing with more money to get more tickets.

Luckiest States
The point is, this jackpot will have ramifications on Powerball. There will be repercussions in the future for lower population states never winning any jackpots in years. You will see. I'm not saying there's anything the lottery can do to improve this other than to take a look at how these Quick Pick's combinations are printed but they could make more smaller to medium size prizes. I think they are doing fairly well enough for that.

North Carolina: 1/1 - 1/31/2016
Hang in there LadyA, you ARE a pro at this, just close the gap, that is all you have to do. Previously, I learned this when I used to be 1-off, especially as we enter mid month and with no major jackpots still in play. Close the gap between sets of numbers

I think this jackpot cycle showed how quickly things can get insane, a few draws the pot only increase +$20 mill, then +$50 mill then +200 then suddenly 400+ and +600. consider how hard it is to win , i can see 2 x billion dollar jackpots advertised this year maybe more

$1.5 BILLION: Wednesday Powerball record jackpot still rising
Nope. So close to $2 billion too. Watch them add 5 white balls 3 red balls and start the jackpot at $100 million now just to have several billion dollar jackpots.

$1.5 BILLION: Wednesday Powerball record jackpot still rising
Which is why they made it harder to win....jackpots grow quicker ( no slow climb)....and bigger....and then EVERYONE plays, not just the usual wagerers...not sure if I'll ever buy more than one ticket of PB or MM again.... I'll still play the better odds games....

$1.5 BILLION: Wednesday Powerball record jackpot still rising
lol...as opposed to one of those small $40-50 million jackpots? $13 - 19 million after taxes is chump change now eh? :)

I think that powerball has crossed the line what do you think?
the jackpot is where it is because of ticket sales so obviously someone thinks big jackpots are a great idea. I would like to get $1 million. That would be great for me.
