California Lottery reveals winner of $1.27 billion Mega Millions jackpot
Good for Rosemary declining the interview, and having her face out there at least.(For now) People will keep digging though to try and find your info and post it. That's the world we live in nowadays, unfortunately. No privacy whatsoever. There's probably not much else you can do if you don't live in an anonymous state from claiming the prize other than p ossibly claiming as an LLC. She should consult someone on this matter!

Tennessee Lottery launches online Powerball sales to combat competition from sports betting
I was going to pontificate about the dangers of using credit cards .... that is until I read the whole article where it says bank or credit union transfer accounts would be used. This measure prevents people( problem gamblers) from going cuckoo with purchasing tickets. Now I have a problem with this online stuff 'cuz it would obviously prevent you from remaining anonymous after you win the jackpot correct? Maybe someone here sees it differently than me. I wonder would online include choo

Arkansas man suppresses celebration for "confirmation" of $500,000 lottery prize
I don't play scratch off games but if I won any jackpot, I would suppress that 100% forever. I live in a state where winners can remain anonymous and I will be that guy, suppressing everything. Even the house fly won't know a snip thing. Now the MM jackpot is 740M, I am not sure how successful I will be at suppressing that win. I think I would have to move to another place or state and they won't know that I used to drive a Corolla before the BMW X3 This post has been automatica

Tipping clerks after a lottery win.
Although I've never won a jackpot and I buy tickets anywhere and everywhere, I'm not big on the idea of tipping the clerk. If you want to remain anonymous after a big jackpot win, that's just not going to happen if you tip the clerk. I used to live near a gas station/convenience store that had sold a MegaMillions $250,000 winner. The owner of the store told me they never found out who won. They were aware that the prize had been claimed because the NY State Lottery Rep informed them that ti

Connecticut Lottery moves draw studio and discontinues live drawings
Not sure how many states might be doing what Conn. is doing (NJ started doing this maybe a year or so ago and I'm not sure but I think it may be possible to go past their location and actually view the drawing through a window, but it is viewable online later), but the idea beside the fact that many players prefer and actual drawing, is that a lot of money is saved by doing away with the TV station rental storing and securing the equipment and paying a host salary, etc. Also the improvement in t

New bill in Wisconsin could allow some lottery winners to remain anonymous
Protecting Social Security #, give me a break. That has been in effect that I know of Federally since 1974. Many years ago my hospital employer would print out the hours an individual worked. It included your SSAN for anyone to dig through the pile to see. Yearly we had surveys to fill out which were anonymous. Said in mine if someone steals mine in violation of Federal law and I'd sue. Well they quickly gave everyone an AHS # to use and no more SSAN used. Fast forward two visits ago goi

New bill in Wisconsin could allow some lottery winners to remain anonymous
A winner's exemption from public disclosure under Peterman's bill includes shielding the winner's name, address, or social security number from public records requests for up to one year after the winner becomes entitled to their prize. This bill would keep the safety and security of lottery winners in mind Winners only get privacy for up to one year. A lot of lottery winners have become victims of thieves and murderers. If they really cared about a winner's safety and securi

$1.35 billion Mega Millions lottery winner suing mother of his child for revealing win to family
I agree, there is more to this story. At what point did he obtain the NDA ..... before or after he told her about the win or could it of been a blanket NDA obtained at the time of support was being negotiated? How could he of known she would sign it if he told her first. So if it was before she could not disclose it to the courts in order to ask for an increase. In this day and age there is no true way to remain anonymous. Banks know, the Irs knows , your attorney...etc. All of which it onl

Big Prize Winners on LP
At the time of posting, there were 236,836 Lottery Post members. If we assume that 50% are active in playing different lottery games, I have a feeling that we have had big Prize winners from LP. When I say big prize am thinking winnings 500K and above. But again because it helps to remain anonymous, probably those winners prefer not to talk about it. Not sure what the impact of that would be, but as someone who just does QP, I would be glad to see a big winner who gives credit t
