I want to ask a question about our national lottery
I recall a news article about two years ago that told the story of a regional lottery winner in china who won for real only the corrupt state had already appointed a sham winner never expecting a legitimate winner. They treated the real winner like a criminal for days demanding to know how he had managed to win. I would never risk my one big lottery win being in a place where you aren't likely to be able to collect. BobP

Questions arise about funds used for Calif. Lottery party
I have to agree that a $32 dinner isn't that much for a catered affair these days. In this failing economy, maybe they could have toned down their celebration. However, unless I am reading the article incorrectly, the total cost was less than $71 per employee which is reasonable. $43,629 divided by 620 people = $70.37. Regarding gifts for excellence, in 2006 I got a $50 gift card to Sharper Image and so did a lot of other people. So what? It didn't have any effect on the clients or their ben

Is the Lottery rigged ? Read this ...
That article is designed to get players to SUPPORT COMPUTERIZED drawings, it was that obvious and as such, it needs to be ignored completely. Always tell the truth. It will astonish some and gratify the rest. -Pres. Harry S. Truman, Democrat

Judge rules thief keeps lottery jackpot
GameGrl. Armed robbery is a pretty serious crime. I assume this means he carried a weapon and could have hurt or killed another person. The first article indicated that buying a lottery ticket was in violation of his probation. If it was not, then he should get the money. However, if he violated his parole, I agree with Sirbrad. But as you said, the courts made a decision, so that's the way it is!

Lottery scammer who later won shot, killed
Wow, Jeffrey. Where did that come from? I didn't say that people who die that way are bad! That's absurd. I was referring to the story of a man who was addicted to drugs and was shot in the street. This is an article about a man who won the lottery and had nothing after a year. My friend's husband was shot to death in a convenient store. Of course I know lots of bad things happen to good people. (I'm one of them!) All you have to do is turn on the news and read about children bei

Florida 5/9 Game
If someone is calling these Delta Numbers I wouldn't be surprised. The Delta Number web site that sells software that makes the conversion for you say's there are 15 delta numbers based on the gaps between numbers. As does this article on Lotto-Logix. http://www.lotto-logix.com/txthouse/deltas.html I thought I explained it all in the first post in this thread, that's the trouble when you don't have to explain it to yourself. I add the digits of the numbers together, the groups are based

Article about privacy of winners
I agree with benmas. Not a fan of any writer promoting his own book, and using overgeneralized statements. ALL Lotto winners who come public blow their money??? Get real. The kid who was only 26 is fairing well with his business and still lives a well budgeted life as do many others who are penny wise. I commend the article for letting folks know that it is important to consult with an attorney. So you can sue the guy that snooped into your right to claim anonymously!

Lottery ticket thief sentenced
Right, Lilly. I remember when LP first posted this news article. The winner was probably so surprised she ran out and then realized how foolish she'd been, since she didn't get anything for validation. Read the story I just posted about the time a teller shorted me $1,800 and I didn't notice the discrepancy right away. It was an honest mistake, but I'm usually extremely careful. Still, as you pointed out, people do spaced out things under stress and they shouldn't be punished for them by dis

Worker accused of stealing winning Oregon lottery ticket
I don't remember the particualr post you do, but I doubt that I would have said that money isn't always a bearer instrument. The point that I have made several times is that people misunderstand what bearer instrument means. Some financial instruments are registered to their owner, and some aren't, and whether or not it's registered doesn't change the laws about ownership of property. Cash is a bearer instrument, but if you lose it you still own it. It's just a matter of whether or not you're

Buyer's remorse
Probably just discouraged with cost of inflation. Just read an article on msn money today how wage increases have not kept up with cost of living for a great many years. 20 dollars does not buy much of squat today.
