Oregon man wins $6.3 million from free lottery ticket
That money would have killed me. Prepare to win. Use this time to think about previous winners and learn from their mistakes. Although reality is different from imagination we can come close to life post win. FYI Be as anonymous as possible. Move if you have to and can. Tell as few others as possible. Nobody else needs to know how rich you are. Happy and Successful winners have shown us what to do and what not to do. These winners are not splashed across the media. Their lives migh

The world may never know who won a $202 million lottery jackpot
A very bad law. In this day and age, knowing what we do about rigged elections, corporate greed, sports cheating (Astros) and past Lottery cheats we should be demanding more transparency, not less. I am not buying the argument that the government and/or media care about our privacy and/or safety. There is an ulterior motive here. Sure the Winner is going to be in the spotlight for 15 minutes. If you don't want that, don't play the Lottery. The Public and your fellow Lottery players have a

Powerball $396.9 million winning lottery ticket sold in Florida
paymentplan-man You demand to know who they (jackpot winners) are? Put your ego in park. Who are you other than an extreme megalomaniac? May whatever state you live in go anonymous and you can let your own curiosity drive you nuts from then on.

NJ Lottery winners can now stay anonymous
New York the lottery got them going thru hoops to file LLC to remain anonymous. Oh, the horror! NY offers expedited services for creating an LLC, so you can theoretically have the LLC finished about 2 hours after the secretary of state's office opens, then waltz across the street to the lottery office. Okay, that's a slight exaggeration because the offices are a bit farther apart, and you'll need to drive about 30 minutes from Albany to Schenectady. Let's allow some extra time and figure

Anonymous / Non anonymous states
Do they cost the same? I think people might pay a little more for anonymity, but who knows? As your hypothetical situation stands, however, it's like being offered a cherry on top of your ice cream sundae - if it doesn't cost extra, why not? (If this was just you and me talking, this is where I'd tell you the joke about Little Johnny at the ice cream parlor and the crushed nuts, but...) I'd like to see just how much more people would be willing to pay. (sounds like a great poll question for a

I have a good idea on how to protect Lottery Winners! :D
Not really a bad idea Karen but I'll tweak it and bring up something I've mentioned before The Jackpot Winners Protection Program (Some lawyers should really do this) In states where winners can't be anonymous other people (lawyers?) represent the winner at any necessary press conference etc.....they also shelter the winner as far as solicitations, news people and others go. Kind of a jackpot winners' version of the Witness Protection Program.

UK winner claims £123 million EuroMillions lottery jackpot anonymously
Staying Anonymous as much as possible is the way to go. Especially when you win big! There are so many stories of past winners who had wished they claimed anonymity. Now they are constantly being begged for help from strangers. How many more deaths will it take to change the States that require a full press event? Being forced to go into hiding should not come with winning the lottery. New safeguards can be invented which will protect the game from illegal actions. Spend some of
