OK ... but with NY being a pretty good gambling state I guess like you said ... Sweet Millions wasn't that interesting to most of them. GiveFive and Growler: Yes, there is a clear distinction here. The odds after buying a ticket but before the drawing were 1 in 5.2 million (before buying a ticket the odds were null). The odds after the jackpot was hit was the 1 in 59,000 number I provided. FTR the odds were 1 in 59,195. Seeing that the odds are either one in 3 million or one in 292.2 million you've doubled your chances but have actually only reduced those odds by two possible combinations for Powerball the first ticket reduces the 292.2 odd to 292,200,000 to 292,200,099 and the second ticket to 292,200,098. A long time ago some people here on LP said they played two tickets to cut the odds in half. So the second ticket doubles your odds of winning but in reality whoop tee do. Florida Fantasy 5 is a 36-ball game. Last week I bought 2 qps and today after confirming they were losers, I noticed the lines had the same sum. I know how to work out the odds of that happening when I buy just 2 lines. I'm curious about the odds of it happening if I had bought 3 lines. I misread this thinking you meant the grand prize odds were 1 in 3.39 million. Understood now that you said the overall odds. Though it isn't what you were referring to, the grand prize odds on this are 1 in 4.32 million. Worse than everything other than $10 Cash for Life. I realize the grand prize odds on any game are ridiculous and it would all come down to luck regardless, but if I remember right, the Holiday game's grand prize odds have been getting progressively worse every year.
