you cant cash out if you scratch off the code?
Well if you mean the prize amount listed under the numbers , on the front of the ticket , that you scratch off , your co worker is wrong
You scratch the numbers and then if they match the games winning numbers , then you scratch the prize amount to see what you have won
Now the BAR Code on the back of the ticket , or where ever it may be located , is totally different
You don't want to damage that
I have seen heavy players buy a lot of tickets , and then see them

Do you mean the ticket number 0-29 or actual serial number? I have copy of it at work will post tomorrow once I know what you mean. I'm still torn if buying book of 30 is better than buying 30 tickets from 30 places. Did it once 30 separate got back $310 only because one was a $100. Hit a machine at albersons today bought one and it was $100. When I won the 5k, got free ticket first so went back in to get another.

Is your clerk careless when tearing scratch-off tickets?
More often than not, part of the ticket is torn apart when I buy from a clerk. This could be problematic if I buy smallest size ticket. And this is part of the reason why I prefer to buy from a self service machine.

Woman who let Powerball winner go ahead of her has no regrets
Everything that happened that day played a part in her getting that ticket.
That ticket was no different than any other ticket before 59 numbered balls dropped into a container and forced air was applied creating thousands, maybe millions of chaotic situations. If the slot the balls enter had opened one second early or one second late, would Gloria still won the jackpot?
What if the person hitting the start button on the bonus number machine sneezed, coughed, or scratched their nose dela

Three NY store clerks held in theft of $75,000 lottery ticket
The moral of this story is ALWAYS SIGN YOUR TICKET BEFORE HANDING IT TO A CLERK TO CHECK IT FOR YOU!If your state has a self checking machine at stores,USE IT,after signing your ticket!ALWAYS SIGN YOUR TICKET!!!Trust no one when it comes to winning money.

Post your scratch ticket results
Haven't posted since the $500 CT win. My scattershot strategy is to buy a few tickets from different locations, and never any rolls. Usually 40 to sometimes 60 dollars every 2 to 6 weeks. Today total spent $40 + $25 cash from a previous winning ticket, 3 locations... today's return $530 including this! This is my second $500 winner from the same machine. same location... first was back in December of 2011 on a $10 ticket.

Liquor store in Passaic, NJ, sold winning Powerball ticket
Pat Battle reporting for NBC was outside the Liquor Store and the winner is a Passaic bodega worker who was working all day and didn't realize the winning ticket was purchased at his regular lotto / liquor shop. He actually took out his ticket and gave it to the clerk to run through the machine and a jackpot message was indicated! I'm surprised no one followed him home....

Snapped up one ticket of each from all bins ($20 + $25) on the machine plus an extra BDB and $20 LFL. I had something unusual happen: every single ticket was a winner (7 of 7), but they were all face value except one $25M hit for $30.
