Trusts and Tax - losing the anonymous benefit?
In Arizona, the lottery agency will not pay out prizes without knowing who, specifically, will be receiving the money, even if it is claimed through a trust.
I've always figured that every state would want to know the identity of the actual person who owns the ticket. Remaining anonymous means that the lottery doesn't release your name to the public, not that they write a check to John Doe and have no idea who actually won. Recently somebody claimed through a trust somewhere and the article

How would you feel if this happened to you? Read my story.
I'm thinking all the stuff about a vending machine forcing them in to playing the same set of numbers over and over again was to start a discussion about frivolous lawsuits. That being said, I thought the Ohio is an anonymous state was a nice touch.
I did some research on the guy who sued the Ohio Lottery after he bought 52 Buckeye 5 tickets all with the same five numbers and even though he lost that one, he successfully sued the store owner where he bought his tickets and got about $2 m

How would you feel if this happened to you? Read my story.
This happened to me the other day (about 3 draw ago)when I was playing Mega Millions in Ohio on the Ohio Turnpike. I stopped at a service plaza to buy some tickets. Instead of going to a store clerk, I went to a lotto machine to get my tickets. I usually test the machine to see if it will take a play slip because of problems in the past with lotto machines. Well, the machine literally ate the first playslip. Foolishly, thinking this is how this machine operates(waits for you to press a button be

'It was a horrible, horrible crime that I committed,' Jamaican lottery scammer repents
Charles Bennett had already lost his home and moved into a trailer to pay the scammers who had taken over his life. Soon he was hiding there in the dark, told in a late-night phone call that he was about to be arrested over unpaid bills.
The 85-year-old Massachusetts man would be stopped from selling the trailer by a social services investigation, but he lost all control over his finances. Even then, he starved himself so he could hand over his food allowance to the scammers. He remained conv

California office pool claims $543 million Mega Millions lottery jackpot
protecting their private lives and where they work?
-- Roland Reyes
it won't be hard to find where that person works or who the other members of the group is...
they need to let people stay anonymous because it's very dangerous to go public
I also don't agree with them keeping their jobs, that's a liability if and when people find out.. lol.. I would have to move with that much money.

$522 MILLION: Mega Millions jackpot increased again
One of the LP members from Oz, I think it was savagegoose, once posted that their lotto works like this,
The play slip has a NP option - No Publicity
The tickets are $1.03 AUS, all the $.03s pay the tax.
Built in anonymous right on the play slip, in essence no tax
All US lotteries should do this.
