Why does it have to be so impossible to win the lottery?
There's plenty of games to play that are easier to win. The jackpots or payouts may not be millions, but if you want millions, then naturally it's going to be harder to win.

$301 MILLION: Huge Powerball jackpot on tap for this week
Isn't it great that state lotteries offer lots of smaller in-state games in addition to the huge multi-state games? That way people who yawn at $300 million jackpots have lots of exciting smaller options to play.

Ready for a $1,000,000,000 Powerball jackpot?
Why wouldn't it happen with the new rule after October 3? A powerplay of 10X will apply to all jackpots up to $150M so at only $100M and a powerplay of 10 someone could win a $1B jackpot. This also means a second prize could be worth up to $10M with powerplay.

Ready for a $1,000,000,000 Powerball jackpot?
How can everyone be cursed with can't win when we have people winning both jackpots? In the recent past we have had Winners from NY, NJ, CA, FL etc ..are you saying those were not winners? How about 84 year old Gloria. Did she not win?

Would you stop playing the lottery if you were restricted to Quick Picks?
Most people play quick picks, but I think the lottery would lose a significant number of players if the purchases had been restricted to only quick picks. Some players like to pick birthdays or numbers from fortune cookies. Honestly, most of the people who win the powerball jackpots won by quick pick anyway. I think the reason why most powerball wins were quick pick is not only because most ticket purchases are quick pick, but honestly, the game is so random that it is only fitting that a random

Winning M/M at 15million
The odds of winning are 1 in 259 million and typical sales for the starting jackpot are 15 to 20 million tickets. That means that only 1/13th to 1/17th of the combinations will be in play. That means we should expect a starting jackpot to be won once in every 13 to 17 rolls. Since there are seldom more than a dozen winners per year there are seldom more than a dozen starting jackpots, which means the starting jackpot should only be hit every year to year and a half.

Why is it so difficult for some to...
If those states were banned from MM PB we'd see much larger jackpots. If those states were banned from MM PB, people from other states would finally have a fair shot at winning.

Bad habits strike again!
So much for bigger jackpots. I thought the increased MM odds was to target that. I guess they will have to raised the odds again.

Bad habits strike again!
You are absolutely correct as to why people are giving up or not playing the lottery. The same places are still winning the jackpots. This is getting BORING! And a waste of money. Let me search for the tax office for Ca., Florida, New York, Texas and other same winning states and just send them my money.
