One of the strangest lotto lawsuits
Synopsis: Man named Abraham Shakespeare (cool name, right?) gave fellow employee his money to buy lotto tickets for him one of the tickets won $30 million in the Florida Lotto. Now the man who bought them for Mr. S says that he wants $1 million and has said that Mr. S stole the ticket from his wallet calling him a liar and thief. Mr. S had responded by slapping him with a $100 million slander suit. I don't think it will go far but mabey this might stop future crazy lawsuits against lotto winn

Florida Lottery won't pay $500,000 winner, called 'misprint'
http://www.ocala.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070516/NEWS/205160332/1025/news
Annemarie Curcio said they were robbed.
My husband gave them a real $20 bill and they gave him a fake ticket,
Apparently Mrs. Curcio hasn't bought a lot of lottery tickets if she thinks a $20 lottery tickets that wins nothing is fake.

Florida Lottery won't pay $500,000 winner, called 'misprint'
If I sound as if I was disagreeing with you, Spy, I wasn't. I only mentioned the disclaimer because it gives them an out if they find a problem with the ticket. If I drove to Tallahassee and was told I couldn't collect, I'd be on every local channel and screaming about it. It's interesting that they would prefer all this negative publicity instead of just paying. Obviously, they aren't worried about the effects of this article. BTW, I am almost certain this has happened in FL before.

Hackers & the lottery...
It might be true. I wasn't arguing with you, just wrote it sounded like a rumor. I did once read that he was dishonorably discharged. The problem with posting is if we were sitting in party now having a drink and you said something about Steve McQueen stealing a tank and I turned around and said No way! sounds like a wild story to me and you answered Yes, I read it in an article on the internet it would sound like a conversation, not an argument or criticism like the written word often d

N.C. couple's winning lottery ticket purchased in S.C.
Traveling from their summer home in Florida, Dick and Colleen purchased lottery tickets in every state along the way.
I hope the article is wrong. Anyone who has a summer home in Florida is a little crazy unless you're part mosquito. I think it probably should read that they were traveling from their winter home in Florida.
This is the time of year all of the snowbirds travel north.
By the way, DoubleDown, I have no idea what a moon pie is, so I guess that means I'm still a Yanke

$75M Texas Lotto winner a 'regular player'
From the article:
The winner selected the cash value option when he bought the ticket, meaning that instead of annual payments he would get a one-time payout less than the jackpot amount.
I don't think he has any choice, Just6ntlc!

I agree with other posters here that everyone has a different plan. I've taken big risks and I've made tons of money and I've lost tons of money. There is a percentage you invest when you're young in each risk category (high, medium, low) but security becomes more important as you get older. If I

Grandma's lottery ticket detour pays off
I had the chance to work with Margie when she came to our offices with her ticket on Monday, and let me tell you - this article doesn't come even close to capturing what a spitfire she was! I can't say I've seen any other 73-year-old with long blond hair dancing around our offices before, but Margie put on quite a show. My favorite thing she said - when she called one of her sons to tell him about her win, she asked what he was doing when he answered the phone. He said he was in the bathroom, to
