Massachusetts woman wastes no time claiming $758.7 million Powerball lottery jackpot
Puh-leeze. It's technically true that winners have gotten there self KILLED but nearly every time their death was due to their own poor choices or by their own hand. Also, in all but a very few cases, the killers were the winner's own family or someone the winner knew. Abraham Shakespeare had taken his killer into his home and allowed her control over his money. Besides that, a friend had sued him for a share of the jackpot, so anonymous claiming wouldn't have helped because of the publicity fro

Anyone else hate that some states won't let winners remain anonymous?
The reality is that some states do give winners complete anonymity, but only from the public.
That's like saying your roof doesn't leaks when it's not raining. Which part of there are no buts with complete anonymity is confusing you?
Say it any goofy way you like but some states don't publish the names of jackpot prize winners and apparently the person starting this thread hates that some states publish names and hold press conferences.

Anyone else hate that some states won't let winners remain anonymous?
What part of the lottery knowing who claims a prize even when only the name of the winner's trust is released to the public is confusing you?
What the lottery knows about the winner and what the lottery tells the public about the winner are completely different things. They never release the winner's address, phone number, or social security number, but I assume you don't think that means that they don't know what they are.
There are several states that don't allow winners to remain anonym

Lottery jackpot rigger's Iowa convictions dismissed
Has little practical impact on case
The Iowa Supreme Court has dismissed the conviction of an Iowa man who just last week pleaded guilty in federal court to charges related with rigging lottery computers in order to win jackpots.
The court issued a ruling Friday dismissing Eddie Tipton's conviction for tampering with lottery equipment. The ruling said the statute of limitations on one of the counts against him had expired and improper instructions given on the other count could have influe

State bills to allow anonymous winners
We all know the odds....
It's all statistics, chance, luck....or whatever.
People come here to socialize, be educated, bounce off ideas....and sometimes just vent ( you?).
I play knowing the chance is one in many many millions....but if it SHOULD ever happen, I know I would want to be anonymous. I travel from time to time and as my State is not an one that lets me keep the news to myself, I would prefer to buy in a state that does.....
I come here to be educated on the state's p

I didn't know many have problem logging on here, because I never have.
We got the biggest hack attack in history going on right now, so u should get online using an anonymous VPN like me.
Google Free VPN and choose the one with a synonym for a Goblin and use it. It works great.
Tor is the most popular free VPN, but skip it. It's developed by US Navy, so u know what that means.

Michigan nurse claims $4 million lottery prize
This lucky and anonymous lottery winner has made mistakes already. She should place investing as a higher priority. Buy a used car a beater. Do not give family money from your win. Do not pay her daughter's tuition.
Of course, this advice will fall on dear ears. Women are more generous when giving gifts. They just are.
She has made rookie lottery player mistakes. Making verbal promises, pledges, and commitments.
She might be treating her lottery money as separate from her earnings.

Interesting way to avoid being hassled ?
I can't help but think of Tevye from Fiddler on the Roof reading this thread when he said, 'He's right and he's right.' Let me add my two cents worth though. I believe that most people would and should remain anonymous so that they may live their remaining days as 'normal people.' The costs of fame whether through the lottery or in the films is not normal. These people live in bubbles - what in the world is appealing about that??
People who play the lottery play to win money. At least I do. I

Lottery-winner secrecy bill dies in Idaho Senate
An Idaho Senate panel has killed legislation that would have allowed lottery winners to hide their identities.
The Senate State Affairs Committee on Wednesday voted 8-1 to halt the measure that would have kept the names of individuals who win $600 or more secret.
While the bill would have allowed winners to give written authorization to the lottery to publicize their names, the proposal also prevented those names from being released under public records requests for six months after the pr
