It's a safe assumption that anyone who has a website can track the IP of anyone who visits. Pages here used to specifically say IP address logged. How useful that IP is varies. Knowing the IP usually means you know the geographic area where that user connected to the internet, but knowing that somebody who says they won is posting from Cape May NJ wouldn't matter much if there's also a news article saying a winning lottery ticket was sold near Cape May. ambelamba...you are half right. In California they will release your name. If you want to claim as an entity they require the name of a natural person who will get the funds which will be released. They do not release the city of residence but they do release where the ticket was purchased. One Does NOT have to go through a press conference. The most recent example of this was Richard Roberts who won a SLP jackpot in July of last year for $110 million. He declined the press conference saying

When I googled Mega Millions earlier, $395 million was the amount shown. One article said: According to New Jersey Lottery officials, the annuity value of the ticket is $195 million and the cash option is $116.5 million, but that's before a federal tax of 25 percent. New Jersey does not tax lottery winnings. Took me a second (I said huh? ) and then I realized they were talking about each winner's prize, so that's $390 million!

justx Hmmm...not so sure. There is at least one woman that runs a dating service that targets millionaires (or at least wealthy guys). She shows women how to get them. Saw article about it on TV a few years back probably on dateline/60 minutes or similar show. I think the majority is women seeking rich guys. I don't know where data could be obtained to back up either your side or my side. We will each have to continue with our own beliefs.

There are federal postal regulations that restrict the mailing of lottery tickets. Thanks gsc5, jarasan. Wasn't there a news article awhile back about a blind girl in Russia who 'sees' things by feel? She feels something and it appears to her as a color. There was also a story about somoene who sees words as actual musical notes.
