New lawsuit claims Indiana Lottery did not award all prizes
when the lottery's reports that there are so many unsold tickets remaining in a scratch game and said tickets are supposedly several of the highest tier tickets. implying that the top tier tickets are still not sold yet. it implies that they are aware said tickets haven't been sold. Some people might deliberately go out and try and buy all the remaining tickets as this fellow did.
the article states he did his homework about the remaining tickets and with good intentions he purchased 40 grand

Winning Scratch Offs
The Fifth Estate reported that retailers in Ontario won large prizes nearly 200 times in the past seven years.
With an estimated 60,000 retailers working in the province, a University of Toronto statistician, who crunched numbers for the television show, said the chance of retailers winning that often is about one chance in a trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion. He estimated the number of wins should be closer to 57.
Lottery officials later revised the number of retailers and clerks i

Hi, Charh! I use Ad-Aware also. As well as Spybot.
Can't help ya on the antivirus, Mike. I got Norton for my son's HP laptop per HP's suggestions and he said that Norton antivirus was @# $#@ #...not that good.
Try Consumer Reports/Consumer Digest. You'll get a rating and where to go for a free download. (If, they don't have a recent article...check the archives, I know there's one in the archives)
Best of Luck to ya!!!

Calif. Lottery misprint leaves 'winners' with nothing
The article says that 4000 of them may have been sold, so at $20,000 each that's $80 million in imaginary prizes. What they lose in future ticket sales will be a drop in the bucket compared to what it would cost them to pay for the bad tickets.
If you want to boycott the California lottery because some tickets were misprinted that's certainly your right, but most of the the sheeple, including the ones who bought what they thought was a winning ticket, will be back in line right away, hoping

Indiana Lottery promotion gets crazy
I don't generally comment on an article unless it is interesting. But this event has been rated by me as the:
NUMBER #1 MOST STUPID IDEA FOR 2006!
What were they thinking?

Delawarean Looses Powerball Lawsuit
Look at the article. It clearly says that he still had the bet slip.
There have been plenty of news stories about past lottery prizes that were paid without a winning ticket and there's really no legitimate reason to deny the claim when the person making the claim came forward shortly after the drawing and can list all 5 sets of numbers played on the ticket.

Mega Millions hit in Ohio- $40 Million
When Jack Whittaker won the PowerBall jackpot a few years back, he not only set up a couple of organizations to help people through the local churches but he personally bought a house for a woman who worked at the coffee shop that he stop at every morning. He paid eighty thousands dollars or so for a house for her as the story was written in an article that I read and she called him a cheap bas****. It seems she expected a bigger house with a monthly check for the rest of her life so she would

Man who stole winning lottery ticket gets 5 years
Sounds right to me. I figured the article must have gotten that figure wrong. Too bad you didn't invest it in a tax deferred annuity for a year or 2. You probably wouldn't have gotten 5% for such a short term investment, but you also wouldn't be paying taxes on the interest until you get everything settled. There's nothing wrong with letting the money sit in a bank account either. I would be thrilled making almost $20K a year in interest.
Good luck to you and I hope you help people who are

£2.8m lottery cash for war memorial
Campaigners for a memorial to Britain's forgotten armed forces heroes have claimed a victory after winning a 2.8m lottery grant.
The Millennium Commission's donation is a milestone in the effort to honour 16,000 servicemen and women killed since the end of the Second World War, and follows the Big Lottery Fund's controversial refusal to provide funding because the project did not fit its criteria.

New Florida Lottery raffle will make 10 millionaires
Interesting - coincidentally I was going to ask you how to post this article!
Members - please comment on the odds here. I have a 7:30am meeting Monday and was going to buy a ticket after the meeting. I have a feeling they'll be sold within the first few days, unless the holiday has an effect on ticket sales. $20 is an awful lot of money to me for a ticket, but for many people it's that proverbial drop in the bucket. I'd be thrilled winning $10,000 right now.
(I believe there
