Before PowerBall and BigGame were available in neighboring states Ohio's SuperLotto (6/49+1) was just as popular and had players from all the surrounding states coming to Ohio to play it. Jackpots of $20M-$70M were won often two or more times a month. If Canada's 6/49 game had games like PB or MM as competition it would suffer the same fate as Ohio's Classic Lotto (6/49).

Wyoming has the smallest population of any state in the country and their lottery is brand new, so they don't have a large player base to build big jackpots quickly. They're probably charging $5 a ticket in hopes of building a good-sized jackpot faster.

The rules are well known and clearly written at the back of the tickets. If this guy gets paid, who's to stop other tardy players from coming forward to demand their jackpots too? The only issue I have with this story is how the Connecticut lottery kept those millions as if it deserved them. I feel that the lottery should have run a lottery ticket promo of buy 1 get 1 free until they ran out of those millions. Maybe the judge should rule in favor of last minute guy...

If only financially responsible people played the lotteries, the jackpots and top prizes would be substantially smaller! So I say more power to the financially irresponsible playing as much as they can. Lots more money for financially responsible people like myself, if I get lucky.

He was stating how apparently 'much was expected' from this lottery jackpot winner; yet little was received from him. It was an interesting 'live experience' response to the quote in this article. Noting that even none sharers have won lottery jackpots.
