If you win or buy a lottery ticket sign your ticket and take pictures of it . Now if you want to be anonymous later Do Not Print Your Name. If you use your printed name as your signature and you want to be anonymous at same time you need a psychiatrist lol

In one state, don't they release the names after a year? I think that would be a nice compromise. Just bump up the 1 year release for people winning 2-3 Million+ because they can afford to move and buy new property with a LLC to keep anonymous, and still stay out of the spotlight. For people less then that dollar amount, let them stay anonymous for 5 years.

While I believe in being able to remain anonymous, the state does NOT FORCE you to give your name or other information. You CHOOSE to play and those are the rules. If one truly wants to remain anonymous in a state that does not allow it, one should simply NOT PLAY.

This is a topic that has interested me and one I feel other people on this forum might be in agreement with me on this. I sometimes play the lottery and like most people I do think about the possibility of winning one of the bigger jackpots even though the chances of winning are extremely low. Yes winners in Puerto Rico can stay anonymous. Shockingly, there were two Puerto Rico Powerball jackpot winners in 2015, the year after the island started the game. Both have remained anonymous. Puerto Rico has a lot of crime. There is no benefit in going public, although the lottery commission might tell us if one person or more people purchased those three tickets at the one location.

She never claimed that SC didn't allow any of its winners to remain anonymous, she simply said that remaining anonymous if the winner is out of state meant first establishing a residency. Living in Utah without a lottery I have always gone up to Idaho to buy my lotto.... That is until last year when Wyoming got the lottery and has the option to remain anonymous. Even though Wy lottery doest have nearly as many draw games or any scratchers I Choose to play there because I want to be anonymous when I win.
