Auto or Pick?
So I was setting here and thinking about tonight's drawing and was talking to the Girls in the pool at work. When it comes to Auto or Picked I would like to hear everyone's thoughts on what one you think has the better possibilities in being a winner. We have played the same numbers for about 2 months now and gotten a few bucks here and there, then last week played Auto and got more hits on the MB. But what stops me from doing the Auto is the numbers that we have picked out and the sequences tha

Help with some details!
What do you mean, have everyone sign all the tickets? My understanding is that there can be only one signature on a ticket.
I'm no attorney, and in fact have no legal training whatsoever, but from what I've read, you need a separate agreement with the details in writing. You really need a trust. A representative of the trust would then sign the winning tickets with the trust's name. Taxes would be paid by the trust, and the remainder would be split up as per agreement.
Perhaps some

Buying Mega Millions lottery tickets a strictly defensive act
Good article. I agree with libra. I would welcome the opportunity of joining a pool. I've never been able to form one where I've worked. The people I know never take the lottery seriously and it only works if everyone adheres to the rules and understands them. Although this subject has been discussed before, if I joined a pool I would not want to give up my regular numbers and would hope there'd be a clause in the group agreement that individual ticket purchases would be completely separate. The

Buying Mega Millions lottery tickets a strictly defensive act
HAPPY WEDNESDAY EVERYONE........3/22
Very good 'eye opening article'.....I'm proud to say, I would never be so blind, as to turn down the opportunity of getting in on the 'pool'.....I would never say no to that. No matter how much was in the Prize Kitty. There's no way, I'm coming back to the Office, while everyone else is jumping into the Limo 'low-flying' to the Main Lottery HQ..to lay claim to all that $$$$$$$$$$$$.......
When the Governor of Maryland, presents the ckecks...My Name will

What would the experts do with a lottery jackpot?
the tax is at 38% for the government
Just curious how you are calculating 38% . . the 2006 Federal Tax Rate Schedules indicate the highest rate is around 35%.

What would the experts do with a lottery jackpot?
Sound advice to a point; however, the financial planner who would invest in emerging international markets I think has bumped his head. That would be a red flag for me to have someone tell me, a new found wealthy person to put my money in international markets. I wouldn't return his call.
If I had $123,000,000, I may consider putting $10,000,000 in international markets. Today on the cover of the Wall Street Journal is an article about a hedge fund manager who has defrauded doctors, spor

lump sum or annual payments
Taxes is always a confusing issue to me. I am a proud American, and have no problem paying required taxes. Without taxes, I wouldn't be where I am, or donw what I have done. Having said that, wasting money through the tax route is confusing. I feel, only the long-time rich really know how to avoid taxes. They have been trough the loops for years, and the experts have been on their side for generations. Just coming into the big world, through a $100M+ win, I have no idea of how to avoid use

Back in the groove again
Thanx Todd and snakeyes. Life is too short to hold grudges.
I saw your pics, building model airplanes. Pretty cool. I used to watch people fly model jet planes, years ago in an abandoned airfield In Queens, NY. Very cool.
Todd: I read the article on that link you provided. Very interesting. I knew there had to be a catch. Someone has to make a buck somewhere.

Mega Millions Jackpot Winner Still Unknown
Every time there is another article printed it just brings more attention to the winner, so I guess the best thing is to get it over with as soon as possible, but many people want to make plans before claiming the money. All jokes aside, I certainly would find it difficult to sleep at night in my place once my name and picture were in the news so I'd first find temporary housing if I couldn't buy a home right away. I know I've often written that people shouldn't be so paranoid about having so mu

Filmmakers direct lottery documentary
From the article:
This is NOT a reality show or a news investigation. Ultimately, we want our documentary to be more than a narrow look at the lottery phenomenon but rather an involving and multifaceted movie that paints a big and broad portrait of modern America.
