Illinois Lottery terminal monitors
When these first came out it showed winners pictures, first and last names, amounts, and towns.
I e-mailed thd Illinois lottery and told them it may not be such a great idea and said they certainly wouldn't want to be responsible for another Abraham Shakespeare. I also put up a thread and asked some other LP members to e-mail them, maybe it did some good.
When I played a ticket today I noticed that now it just shows the person's first name and amount.
Certainly not like being anonymous,

Do YOU know any lottery winners personally?
Yes, several, and so now my neighbors think that I'M lucky. Kidding aside though, each situation was very different. I know that there have been discussions about this in other threads, but the publicity didn't serve any of these winners well, even within their own personal spheres. I feel that it's important for any winner, whether they've won 10,000 or 10,000,000, to be able to remain anonymous. I learned more about the constant hounding that winners are bombarded with on this forum than I lea

So much for anonymity. Illinois terminals
Okay, I just checked. There is no mention of the fact you don't have to get your photo taken. So... either they don't want to advertise the fact or it's changed....again.
Also:
Q: If I should win a large top prize, do I have the option of remaining anonymous with regard to the media and the public?
A: The NCEL will consider a winner s name, city/county, and the prize amount a matter of public record, unless the winner produces a valid protective order or Address Confidentiality Program

Automatic Lottery Machines - safe?
My local grocery store has a lottery machine where I can buy all my lottery tickets for MM and PB, besides any scratch-offs if I want. However, you must scan your driver's license first.
I've always wanted to be anonymous when I claim, but now I'm wondering if they keep that driver license information and if it can get out into the public.
I know it's just to approve my age to buy the tickets, but that doesn't mean they don't keep the information for research purposes.... which could get o

Does Mathematical Innumeracy foster superstitions and support the belief in them?
Hi Jimmy:
I'm just an anonymous stranger on the internet who spent several decades working in close proximity to people a lot like yourself. Enough years to get an intimate knowledge of everything I needed to know about them. They weren't a majority among similarly educated and similarly employed people, but most of us working in those environments possessed enough of a piece of it to recognize it in ourselves without being glad of it being there. But a greater percentage than a person might

Claiming lottery winnings anonymously in California
The California Lottery website doesn't print the name of the LLC or Trust that is used when you claim your winnings. At least I have never seen one listed. It just says that the winner chose to remain anonymous. I'm not sure what happens if someone (the media) calls the Lottery Office and asks for that specific information. Would be interesting to know what the procedure there is.
I found this:

Write YOUR Jackpot Headline...
LMAO!! You guys are soooo funny!!! What great ones!
rdgrnr - that was awesome!
Joshua Cloak - I LOVE Scrooge McDuck!!! He might be one of the reason I play the lottery, although he'd think it was a waste of money (although Gladstone would definitely play - and win!).
I love the idea of fun headlines. However, I think I may be boring and have my LLC be something that people have to look up to figure out how to correctly spell it. Like XWYTU LLC - just to stay even more anonymous!

Gee-zus Jacal!!
What the heck did you do for a living? What were you? Some kinda digit-head???? I guess I have to be impressed with your spittin out all those facts about my numbers without you havin to check your notes!!
And that plethera of lottery retailers is a GOOD thing. That way you can remain anonymous when the big hit comes. No need to go back to the store or nuthin'!! They sure aint gonna know who bought the winning ticket, and it'll drive 'em nuts when you dont show up in the s

lets say you on purpose, publicly claimed a major jackpot win, what could be the benefits for you
I watch a vlog on YouTube (video blog, the SHAYTARDS if anyone is wondering) and have kind of been interested in my own one. I don't really have anything interesting to do one about but if I won I could see claiming publicly and then doing a vlog to show everyone the life of a winner (I would never actually do this as it would give too many people info about my personal life, when I'm away from home, etc... but for the thread let's say I would). It would help let people become aware of what life

Lottery is fun to play when...
Do you have some obsessive need to boast and brag about how great you think you are, as if everyone or anyone cared?
I joined the forum to learn and share with other people. Folks are here to learn and share how to win the game, not hear some anonymous nobody brag about how great they think they are.
It's like you said, knowledge is powerful, and hearing you talk about yourself provides nothing of any meaning or value. Posting predictions before the draw so everyone can see the results wou
