Mega Millions 2004-03-16
I spent $9 and didn't win anything and I didn't take a stupid pill, I just didn't have any winning combinations. The odds were 1:135M that I would win the jackpot and 1:43 that I would win anything at all. Chances were I was going to lose, that why it called gambling and somebody got to lose to create those large jackpot amounts.RJOh

Lottery Pool Concept
Quote: Originally posted by RJOh on March 17, 2004With any pool, some one has to be in charge and be responsible to see that everything gets done.RJOhIn my example, the Company is in charge to see everything get done right. Yes, 2,000 is a lot to spend on lottery tickets. But then again, there are some people who spend that much on one hand of blackjack.Jake

Lottery Odds Reduction
I've tried filtering with sums, ranges, gaps, number positions, number of matches and etc. Each filter allowed 80-90% of the numbers or parameters, but only 20-25% of the combinations got by all the the filters and their percent of hits were no greater than for the whole group. If you've discovered a way to reduce the group size and increase its percent of hits compared to the whole group than you are on your way to a winner.Good luck to you.RJOh

Neural Networks- Applicable to Lottery?
Quote: Originally posted by RJOh on March 07, 2004My question is:If anyone can detect certain reoccurring patterns with data mining software, why won't states running lotteries use similar software to make sure their systems were truly random? I would think if they found such patterns, they would introduce other factors randomly to make the process truly random and the only constants would be the field and combinations sizes.RJOhWhy do you think they keep increasing the odds for some games?

West Virginia 6-25 - March 9
luckycat,It's a 6/25 wheel that guarantees a match 3 if 6 of the numbers hit which can't miss in W.Va Cash25, and it good for any 25 numbers with 6 number combinations. I used CoverMaster to come up with this wheel. Good luck to you. The next time I go to W.Va. to visit my kin-folks, I may give it a try.RJOh

Tonight's winning numbers were 01-07-13-33-36-44. At least you had a chance to match 3 for $4 with a 3 if 3/$10 wheel.RJOh
