Claiming Anonymous in California Lottery
Hi, thanks for the reply. Yes, I read the faq as well. I am curious why the news article# 215346 says - Anonymous winner claims $23M.
The first paragraph says -
A lucky California retiree who doesn't want to be named bought a SuperLotto ticket last week worth $23 million.
This contradicts what's in the faq section of calottery website. How were they able to claim anonymously?
From my research, California doesn't allow blind trust. So I can't think of any other way to claim anonymou

Claiming Anonymous in California Lottery
The California Lottery site FAQ says:
Can I be anonymous when I win?
Calfornia state law requires that the California State Lottery to release the following information: your name, and the name and location of the retailer where you bought your ticket. You may request no media coverage aside from that.
(That is the exact wording on the site, however ill conceived it was.)
It would appear if you win a multi-state game in California, state law would require disclosure.

Are you due a prize bond windfall?
Irish Prize Bonds have around 1.5 million in unclaimed prize bonds looking for an owner.
Each of these four tickets is worth around 20,000 but the prizes have gone unclaimed for as long as 19 years.
If the ticket holder dies, then the ticket gets passed on to their heirs and prizes start earning interest if they remain unclaimed for more than six months.
The Prize Bond Company has also introduced a monthly 1 million prize, the most recent prize was won last Friday by a Kilkenny resident

If you have to appear on either Oprah or The Lottery Changed My Life...
If I was guaranteed to win the Mega Millions tonight as long as I went on those shows, heck yea I'd agree to that. Even if I had to go on dressed as I normally do and not act crazy I would still do it.
Sure staying anonymous would be nice but having people know you won isn't the end of the world. After I would go on Oprah or whatever I would go back to living. It's not like they would publish my phone number and address so I would still have that hidden (as an unlisted phone number and a

If you have to appear on either Oprah or The Lottery Changed My Life...
I wouldn't waste time putting $300,000 in the bank to earn $1400 or any amount per month and give it away to every lunatic. That interest is taxable, if I'm going to give it away to anybody, it will be an attorney to help me safe guard it, an accountant to make sure I am ok with tax liability and to charities that are truly worthy of a donation..There are some people that may have a sick child that you see on the news, I would make an anonymous donation. I will also give money back to my parents

Disadvantages of a Blind Trust?
So I was reading through some old stories earlier about lottery winners using Blind Trusts to claim their winnings anonymously. It got me thinking about all those that don't choose to accept this way and why they don't. For those that don't know, here's the major advantage of a Blind Trust.
A Blind Trust will hide your identity from long lost relatives , actual relatives that are either untrustworthy or very greedy, keep your friends/coworkers unaware and thus preserving your relationshi

Complaints prompt review of Arkansas Lottery's personnel policies, salaries
Favoritism and corruption in high places? This is absolutely shocking news!
Ms. Middleton if she's smart will hire Hillary as her legal counsel and turn all related paperwork over to her so she can put it in the black hole with all the Whitewater documents from the law firm she worked for that she misplaced .
Hopefully, there's nobody who knows too much like Vince Foster.
And naturally, the anonymous complainers will have to be rooted out and dealt with in the most harsh and severe term

You played what? Those are my numbers!
No harm comes from hitting a jackpot and not remaining anonymous.
I bet more than I win but come out ahead all the time.
I hit three numbers on Little Lotto and it paid $47.52
(People have actually told me that. 3 of 5 pays $10 and that's it.)
