What state will win the powerball jackpot?
With a $225 jackpot PowerBall was approaching the point where I was willing to spend $2 on its tickets. If Californians were willing to spend $2 on tickets for lower jackpots than folks in other states then one of them deserve to win. None of my money went toward that jackpot.

Poll: New National Game October 19th - Will You Play?
Oklahoma's lottery is weak because the state population is so small. Other small states have the same problem - not enough players to build large jackpots. Scratchers usually suck in smaller states also, for the same reason.

N.C. woman plays lottery for first time, wins $100K
I agree! I find it hard to believe when people win, they claim it was their first time playing. In recent years with the lottery jackpots escalating above $400m. Most people will at least spend $1 or do an office pool.

Illinois Lucky Day Lotto now 5/45
It is pretty frustrating that they will only bump the jackpot up 50k per drawing. The Illinois lottery has not been generating enough revenue over the past few years so instead of creating a greater incentive for people to play the lottery by boosting the jackpots by large amounts like they did in previous years they just hoard that extra money in their coffers.

Powerball changes??
I take it, they'll make the odds tougher than Mega Millions, but look what's happening with that game. It's still being won before the anticipated monster jackpots. I do miss the jackpot frenzy though. As far as jackpot prizes, this summer was a dud!

Should we boycott Mega Millions?
You do realize The jackpot can suffer a decrease if california keeps winning, that is the cost of winning more often. Otherwise stick to the state lotto jackpots etc.

Should we boycott Mega Millions?
I think the mega millions game needs to change within, so there are more winners per year. 50 million dollars jackpot should be enough, and you would end up with about 17 million dollars. Wouldn't that be enough for you? I say stop pushing for these high jackpots, and yes, you would get more people to play, and you would still have 1 or 2 jackpot winners vs. more winners.

$160 MILLION: largest Mega Millions jackpot in 5 months
If you ever win one of those smaller jackpots you risk pissing a friend off and losing a friendship. Is playing every drawing worth that potential lost?

Using crowd science to improve my odds of winning
Ohio's Rolling Cash5 (5/39) seldom goes more than five drawings without a winner and the jackpots start at $100K and roll from there until won. I've often thought about playing it more but I never cared for the attention a daily game requires.
