MM for Friday 2/27/04
Quote: Originally posted by kbcherokee on February 28, 2004 I'm still holding off on playin' MM for a couple more draws. I'm working on PB right now for next Wednesday's drawing.Chief Chief,Sounds like you are doing what I'm doing, putting all your eggs in one basket. After running tests on paper, I have concluded that unlike investing in stocks, your odds are better if you put more on one lottery than if you put a little on different lotteries. I'm playing Ohio649P. Good luck to you.RJOh

Lottery Advise
Now you know why governments support lotteries. They take 50% off the top for running the games and when they pay the other 50% out in prizes they get 30% of that in taxes. 65%-70% of every dollar spent and some politicians have suggested an additional 5% sale tax so that the losers don't get away tax free.RJOh

Powerball Jackpot Soars to $61 Million
Since the overall odds of having a winning combination is 1:36, you can figure that there were 35 losing combinations for every winning one. If the average player spend $5 then there were seven that won nothing for everyone that won something unless the average player spent more the $5. But then I would assume that the players that spent more were more likely to win something and the players that spent less weren't really expecting to win anything unless they got lucky. Thats why they call i

PB Drawing for Saturday 02-28-04
Tso-gali-IYou're right about the crazy number's. It never fails when the Bell-Curve is changing and getting ready to head in a different direction, this kind of thing happens. Then it takes one or two draws to see where it's going again. Then it becomes easier to follow and track. We'll see what happens next Wednesday.RJOH: You had a couple of the number's...Chief

Looking for Lotto Group or pool
The first place to look for a lottery pool or group is among family, friends and coworker that you trust. No stranger with any sense is going to give you money to buy lottery tickets and you shouldn't either, but if you insist, I'm sure somebody will accept your money, just don't expect to win anything.RJOh

Ohio Super Lotto 02/25/04...$10M
Ohio lottery popularity declined when the State decided to limit the amount that one ticket could win to $20M. They reversed that decision some months later but by then it was too late, other games that payed more had taken the lead and Ohio tickets sales were down. Ohio had to join one of the multi-state games to get ticket sales up again. PowerBall has decided to limit jackpot size at a certain point and increase the 2nd prize amount, but it hasn't hurt ticket sales because it doesn't take

Syndicates
Quote: Originally posted by Paid 2 Lotto on February 26, 2004 I've read somewhere that 1/3 of all Jackpot winners in UK national lottery were syndicates. I've read somewhere that foreign syndicates give the illusion of a greater chance to wins a lottery by pretending to buy large pools of tickets but are not legally bound by local US courts to do anything, even buy tickets. At best a player have no idea of the number of players assigned to one ticket.RJOh

dull lotto news
Rjoh wrote: I don't think any other lottery winner will ever repeat that mistake.Sure they will. Without a doubt someone will win big and say almost the exact same thing that Jack said. It is almost inherent that people would say that. Quote (if I won a lot of money I would help other people) has been said by more than one person.
