Sounds like a sure bet to exploit. Or is it? Well, additional statistics indicate that you have to be careful with such an assumption. It is not as straightforward as it appears at the first glance. Here are the Payouts: Total Pick 3 Base Prizes Won (includes online and retail wins): $259,815 Total Pick 3 Fireball Prizes Won (includes online and retail wins): $86,266 Plus, that tells us pretty much how many folks are playing Fireball. The usual Fireball payout is about $5000. Back that out of $86,000 leaving $81,000. Divide that by the $200 Fireball exact payout and you get 81000/200 = 400 Fireball plays. That 400 plays number sounds about right to me. I originally guessed 30

That is where the spreadsheet formula comes in. You can use MS Excel, or free versions like openOffice or even Google Sheets. Put your many rows in column A. At the first cell in column B, type = BASE(A1, 9). Then grab the bottom right corner of B1 and drag it down to match the row length in column A.
