What's Your Strategy for Playing a New Draw Game?
if the jackpot rolls over, i wait until the jackpot is big enough to be worth my while. the probability of winning the jackpot is the same for every drawing, nothing special about the very first drawing.
scratchers are different because you don't want to play a game where the top prizes have already been picked off. your state's lottery website should publish that info. smart scratchers players check the website often to see which games are still good and which are duds.

What's Your Strategy for Playing a New Draw Game?
With scratchers, I think the rush to buy them comes from the belief that the lotteries front load the first batch with some decent winners because they want people saying Hey, I bought one of those new $30 Gimme Millions scratchers and won $200. I don't know if that's true or not, but it feels like that's what drives early buyers.
With the new draw game, they can't front load anything. The odds are fixed and hella steep, so the odds of a big win aren't going to be impacted by early play, IMO

Millionaire for Life multi-state lottery game to replace Cash4Life and Lucky for Life in February
I think this is the first draw game I've ever heard of that doesn't pay if you only hit the extra ball (Millionaire's Ball in this case).
I'll play on Thursday and Sunday when nothing else big is drawing. No way am I playing every day.

Connecticut man one-ups his own $100,000 Cash 5 lottery win with a larger $1 million prize
Awesome story and your two big wins.
Nice that Connecticut pulls the game(s) after all the top prizes are gone. Here they don't do that.

Born to Kvetch
I worked in Vegas casinos from 1977 to 1993, I was talking about those times, the tail End of the old days and the chaos when Atlantic City opened and went on to ruin what had been a very good thing. In the 'old days' if a game had a very good night ( won big) the boss would grab some 'blacks', throw them to the dealers and say, 'Here you go boys, good job. That was then. After AC opened things went corporate and all departments were told to make a profit, thus drinks were being sold for awhile.

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
Just, if both of the big 2 go to $5, I don't think you're giving your fellow participants enough credit. Folks have been deceived for too long, with promises of bigger jackpots and restarts at a certain dollar figure... Some might sputter and play, I bet the majority wouldn't, until it got to a stupid number, somewhere in the advertised Annuity of $1 Billion range. I am giving the Measly Millions a full year to see if the spending habits change and the players adjust to $5 purchase price. Coming

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
AMEN Ranett !!!! Last time I purchased a ticket was 12/26/24 for the big jackpot the next day. Nowadays buying a ticket for the Measly Millions is so distant. Kind of like an old friend/associate that you talk about but don't keep in touch with any more.
I still would like to see them start a new $1 game with the odds around 1/305M for the jackpot. Give the folks that $1 or $2 or $5 option in playing.

You Can't Lose If You Don't Play
Yin and Yang. You can't lose if you don't play and you can't win if you don't play. The lottery only gives back 50% to the players, and most of that goes to the very small percentage of people who win the very big prizes. Other than the extremely rare situations, such as the MA Win Fall game, if you're anything close to statistically normal you're going to lose at least 70% of the money you bet, so it's stupid to play the lottery.
I'm only a little bit stupid, so I only play when the jackpot

Games most played
I joined a pool and I only play the games the pool plays. The pool only plays games with big jackpots like Powerball and Mega Millions.
Winning with the pool is about the same as winning a state game on you own except with much better odds.

Florida woman's secret to winning $865,811 in the lottery is talking to her phone
Look, I live in N.C. and I know how the NCEL news feeds works. They will come up with some the most feel good, ridiculous scenarios. I have complained to them many times about their outlandish winning articles. example,,, man stops for milk and wins $1,000,000. Woman stops to pick up stuffing for Thanksgiving dinner, that she forgot, wins $1,000,000. Mind you, these are always scratch offs. Truck driver stops to fill up his rig, from out of state, and scratches for a $100,000 winning scratch off
