MI and OH need new games
Ohio has a unique situation now with its Classic Lotto game. It's a pick6/49 game with a $23M jackpot which is one of the top 10 jackpots in the country with the best odds of a win. If this doesn't encourage tickets sales, nothing will. I doubt if anyone connected with the lottery is interesting in changing that.

Do you keep a lotto log?
I used to keep a log of numbers played and how much I played and won and lost (mostly lost) on each game. Now I just keep an excel file of each game I play and the amount played and won or lost. I'm always changing or tweaking what I play and the amount so I like to keep track of where my $ goes. Also, if I win (big) I have a written file for taxes and I keep my old tickets.

Texas Pick 3 is state's top moneymaker
I think Texas' next new game (after changing Lotto Texas) will be a pick-4. I don't think Texas would try a Lose for Life-type game.

Lotto South Ending?
KY needs to stay in LS. Regardless, a win for life online game similar to those in OR and PA would be a terrible idea, especially if there's no cash option. As for LS itself, I believe the game is fading because the jackpot odds are NOT high enough for the tri-state population (Lotto Virginia's 6/49 became Lotto South without changing the matrix).

Minnesota ruins Gopher 5 game again.
First they change to computerized drawings. Now they are changing the matrix from 5/42 with a bonus number to a 5/47 game with no bonus number.http://www.lottery.state.mn.us/numbers.html#G5 Looks like I'm going to be saving $10 a week now. No more Gopher 5 for me.

Matrix v population
What I mean is this: Can you think of a jackpot game (in-state or multi-state, pick-6 or 5+1 format), whose matrix is either too large or too small for its population base? The best example I can think of, for a game too small, is Lotto South. It's a 6/49 game that IMO should be perhaps a 6/53, given the total populations of Georgia, Kentucky, and Virginia. VA had a 6/49 that became LS, without changing the matrix.

Lotto South- Potential New Draw Days
Substituting a bonus ball for the 6th ball would improve the game. The odds for the 3-. 4-. and 5-ball matches would increase and they could increase the corresponding prizes to make the game more attractive, all done without changing the matrix. It might actually result in a bigger jackpot prize as well, depending on sales.

Powerball lottery to implement changes
They're only changing the game because so many tickets were hitting early in the year. From January through February, they had four winners, averaging ~$19.2 million. Since March, the same number of tickets won, but averaging ~$66 million. If PB would have just waited, they wouldn't have to have changed the odds on the game. But I do like the increases in payouts.

Too many players winning Powerball, lottery says
Well changing hot lotto to a 6/49 format would fix that.Powerball has been adding states but doing nothing to address that. They also need to change the current lame rules regarding record jackpots. If they want to keep their current game it would only tick off the current member states as they look at the falling sales. I just wonder if they have had any meetings with the current states about the status of the game and any possible changes.

New Jersey
Todd:Pick-6 Lotto is a MUCH BETTER game than NY Lotto 6/59 simply because the payback % is 10 points higher. I wouldn't mind NJ changing it to be exactly like the NY game except for the prize return.
