Two Alaska state lottery plans are about to be debated; here's how they'd work
Alaska is one of five U.S. states without a lottery. This year, Gov. Mike Dunleavy and House Majority Leader Steve Thompson, a Republican from Fairbanks, have each offered plans to change that.
With Alaska state government projecting a $1.5 billion budget deficit, both men have said a lottery could be one step toward a broader fix. But both have proposed very different approaches.
Thompson is suggesting a draw-style lottery that would raise between $8 million and $10 million a year for the

Bill could increase lottery prize payouts to Pennsylvania players
Legislation would free up funds for bigger prizes
By Kate Northrop
A Pennsylvania bill that would effectively increase lottery prize payouts to players is awaiting final approval on the Governor's desk.
Pennsylvania lottery players may be raking in larger prizes if House Bill 1058 passes, which would reduce the required profit margins the Pennsylvania Lottery is required to take in for state programs.
House Bill 1058 has officially passed both the Senate and House, now awaiting a

Oregon lottery winners can now remain anonymous
Knowing a million-dollar winner in Florida and how easy it was to locate him through searching the county Tax Appraiser's database, I'm glad to see another state acknowledge that winning a jackpot is both a blessing and a curse. The vultures started landing on my friend's doorstep in no time flat.
Florida allows winners to remain anonymous for only 90 days. Just long enough to pack up and leave your friends and neighbors and start over again somewhere far, far away. A hefty price to pay for

Lawyer representing $83.5 million Lotto Texas jackpot winner warns of additional investigations
The Senate hearings are just hearings. The Texas Senate cannot block a lottery payment, unless they did so through legislation that is passed and signed into law by the governor. Anything they want prosecuted would be referred to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
As far as the actual investigation blocking the payment of this jackpot, that is being conducted by the Texas Rangers, as I previously mentioned. The Rangers have released no information at all about their investigation, oth

Legislation and media misconceptions plague Connecticut Lottery over technical errors
Lottery integrity called into question as media blows issues out of proportion
Exclusive Lottery Post investigative report
By Kate Northrop
The Connecticut Lottery is being forced to revisit a 2023 software glitch that caused confusion for some players trying to claim prizes and this time it's being made worse by local media blowing the matter out of proportion.
What started a technical hiccup has spiraled into accusations of cover-ups and violations of integrity. In June 2023,

Accurately predicting winning numbers
I have a strategy predicting winning numbers good for all states , but showing a profit is a different thing. And system sellers will never say it. Most pick 3 games payout at slightly less than 50% of the odds so even if a system predicts at 90%, it still loses money. Not saying it's impossible to have a profitable strategy but how are the going to convince a large number of people to by to collect more money than they can make by simply playing system?
Jerry and Marge Selbee once use a sys

PATR IOTS, AND ALL INTERESTED IN OUR AMERICAN HISTORY
Nota Bene:
On this day in 1931, President Herbert Hoover signed into law legislation making The Star-Spangled Banner the nation s official national anthem.
Francis Scott Key (1779-1843) composed the poem that became The Star-Spangled Banner on Sept. 14, 1814, after witnessing the massive overnight British bombardment of Fort McHenry in Baltimore harbor, a key assault during the War of 1812. Key, a lawyer, watched the siege while being detained aboard ship by British sailors. He pe

800 million dollars
Correct you are. The rich are legally sheltering their money. The Federal government wrote the tax code and wealthy people's tax attorneys are simply telling them how to legally exploit the tax code to their advantage.
Ever heard of The Carried Interest Loophole ? It's a terrific method for wealthy people employed in the Private Equity industry to cut their tax burden in half, and best of all it's perfectly legal. But carry as the PE Boy's all call it isn't available to the average tax payin

VIDEO: $2 billion Powerball winner buys another multi-million dollar California property
California too needs to revamp its laws, as many states have already done, and allow winners to claim anonymously/trust.
Bet there are lots of laws in your state law codes that are not in other states and vise versa. Just saying.
Have you tried contacting the California Legislation?
