Went public too soon?
We all have ideas of what we would do if we win and I've read many really good ideas on things that I'd never thought about before. However we have to actually win to get to point of making a choice where those good ideas would be meaningful. On this thread we were asked for our opinion and some people are saying Robert and Tonya Harris were stupid for going public so early trying to pass off their opinion as the definitive opinion. We get similar opinions in other threads on topics like annu

How would you end your job after You win the powerball this week.
There are some great ideas here. My job is a dead-end job with no chance for advancement and little chance of even a raise. I make next to nothing. I'm so over-qualified it's laughable. My boss loves me; but the owner of the business is a micromanager, a skinflint and an abuser of his employees. Thank goodness that in the eight months I've worked here, I have yet to meet him; may that pleasure be prolonged indefinitely. I would love to make an unforgettable exit, something they would talk

Went public too soon?
I would have chosen to claim the funds under a trust and would have told the lottery officials that they are not to use my likeness (display any photo of me, or make any video and post it on the news, or internet, etc...) and they are not to release any of my information... Maybe they saw Forbes's list of 1065 Billionaires and figured if the richest people in the World can't remain anonymous, why bother. Had they read the consensus in most how to play lottery books, they would have never pl

How do I determine the interest rate received on annual payments?
True - many moons ago I questioned why the Mystical forum had ten times the traffic of the Mathemnatical forum, but I didn't strip the dream requests out of Mystical when I asked. But, what is rational about dirving ourselves nuts over jackpots that haven't been hit? How would you spend it, and would you try to remain anonymous are one thing, agonizing over percentages on a make believe are another. Just my $.02 YMMV

List of States Which Allow Anonymous Winners
This is the response I got from the Queensland State Lottery. Lottery winners do have the right to remain anonymous under the 'Not for publication' option on their winners circle card. This would also be reiterated upon the lottery contacting the customer to inform them of the win.

Rule #1 For Winners
Four Lotto players will be living a Lotto life after sharing the First Division prize of $1.5 million in Wednesday night s jackpot draw. Three NSW players picked up $375,000 each with winning tickets purchased in Orange, Ettalong Beach and East Maitland. The Orange winner was a registered player, so lotteries officials were able to call her with the good news. The Orange winner is a local woman who wishes to remain anonymous. Oh my God, wonderful, thank you, thank you so very much, s
