Lottery players rushing to play Mega Millions
If she matches all six numbers, she will have something to think about: whether to receive her money at once - and lose a significant amount of her winnings - or take 26 annual increments. This statement is so misleading or the person who wrote this article doesn't know what the heck he or she is talking about. You don't lose any amount of money by taking the lump sum. When you take the lump sum you are getting the same amount that the lottery commission puts into an account and invests (minus

Only Odd Numbers
Quote: Originally posted by dragon on May 21, 2004Somebody talked about a filter to take out all odd combinations. Like 7,9,31,43,45,47 for instance. They said to do that because it has never happened before. That intrigued me.The way I figure it, in a 6/49 lottery, here are this many all odd combinations:25*24*24*23*23*22 / 6*5*4*3*2*1 = 232760Since there are 13 million total combinations, there should be an all odd draw result every 60 games or so. Pretty frequent.Has anybody checked a dra

Buying more tickets = reduced odds
AyenowitallI agree with those who have wondered about the comprehension skills of some members. (I have to be true to my honesty and say that in a face to face situation I would just walk away as I have always held the view that you cannot have a worthwhile arguement with a stupid person.) Far be from me to call anyone stupid here. Some little exercises I have done were to produce biased histories and see how they fared. So for the 6/49 example I gave above it means that for every 49 Draws each

Paul, 3 lottery executives paid $300,000 when they quit Georgia jobs
Todd -Not desiring to get into any sort of argument with you re this thread, I'll make these comments and refrain from any further posts in this thread.Perks and bonuses fall into the category of compensation paid an employee over and above their base salary. Payment of unused leave, however, doesn't, as it represents a payment for the time an employee could have been absent from the job while on vacation or due to illness. The reason most employers put a cap or limit on the amount of vacation t

How is it possible?
Prob987 just because you aren't aware of it doesn't mean it hasn't happened. For example Johhnny5 lives in Ocala,FL and his local paper ran an article awhile back about a Father Son who won the FL Lottery 3times using Lottery software they mentioned it in the interview.I also recieved a private e-mail from a member about a former co-worker that use to work for theDOD as a programmer and developed a program for personal use in the Pick-3/4 games. This individual makes $7500-$10,000/mnth he d

$315M Lottery Winner Shuns Attention
If any of you out there were familiar with the whole story, you know he didn't need to win the lottery in the first place. (He was already a multi-millionaire construction Mogul). So he's doing the Percy Ross thing and giving all away. (Hmmm how do any of us get in on that). Two other amusing sidelights: 1. He tried to give a lot of money to his church (I can't remember the Denominattion, I think it was AOG; but anyway, a very fundamentalist conservative one which is very Anti-gambling. T

Pa. Lottery To Scrap Super 6 Lotto
This story was first reported in the harrisburg Patriot - News last Friday. Most of the details were given; yes it will be sort of like Super 6; players can pick 6 numbers, (out of 49); the other two plays are freebees. My only question after reading the article and trying to figure the odds is that apparently 10 numbers are drawn. According to the story, (I didn't do all the math) the chances of getting $2 (minimum) prize is 1 in 9. this is about the same as the Cash 5 game. I'm wondring

Can money buy happiness? Apparently yes.
They say money can't buy happiness, but being poor sure doesn't guarantee it either!!I think someone has basically already said that, but that is my philosophy to the money haters. It takes money to make it in this world, and while some can claim to be happy without money, life is just a whole lot easier and better with it. Sticking to the article, money can help you keep up with your health. It can give you a sense of security for you and more importantly, your children.I would dare even say th
